Chapter 90: Walking Right into Trouble
She couldn't help but ask curiously, "Are you Tangna's father?"
Joseph nodded. "Yes, I just returned from abroad and want to spend more time with Tangna."
Bruce Tang was secretly delighted, seeing that Tangna had found a good father. She smiled and said, "Tangna is a very lovely child, and she is very popular in kindergarten."
Joseph looked at Tang Bruce with gratitude. "Thank you for your praise. I will take good care of Tangna. By the way..."
As the lord of the underworld, Joseph's observation skills were top-notch. He noticed that Tang Bruce was no longer wearing her school uniform, and there were faint stains on her clothes, suggesting she had just been to a warehouse to find something. Usually, people who went looking for things like that were planning to leave the place.
But Tang Bruce didn't seem like she wanted to leave on her own accord. Joseph asked directly, "I heard you say you were fired from the kindergarten? What happened?"
Tang Bruce hesitated for a moment, surprised by Joseph's sharp observation. After a moment of thought, she decided to tell the truth since he wasn't part of the school. "It was the vice principal... He made some unreasonable demands that I couldn't accept, so..."
Joseph's expression turned grim. "This is outrageous! How can anyone treat an excellent teacher like this? If you don't mind, you can come work at my company. I'm sure you'll do well."
Tang Bruce was taken aback. "Thank you for your offer, but I still want to work in education..."
Joseph nodded thoughtfully. "That's okay. If you ever need help, feel free to reach out."
Although Tang Bruce didn't immediately accept Joseph's offer, he and the others decided not to leave her alone. Since Tang Bruce didn't explain what the vice principal had demanded, they still didn't know the full story. To celebrate Tang Bruce considering a new job, Joseph suggested, "Why don't we go out for a meal? Would you like that? It might make your evening a bit better."
Tang Bruce hadn't planned on this, but hearing Joseph's suggestion, she reluctantly agreed. "Alright, let's do that."
Soon, they arrived at a restaurant, but it was crowded, and the private rooms were all taken. They had to sit in the main hall. While they were ordering, Joseph asked Tang Bruce to choose, but she kept declining. Joseph then told the waiter, "Let's start with a whole roasted lamb. We can decide on the rest later."
The waiter was stunned. "Sir, a whole roasted lamb is usually for a party of ten. Do you have more people joining you?"
Joseph waved it off. "It's just us."
Tang Bruce quickly interjected, "Tangna's father, calm down. We can't eat that much."
Lucy nodded in agreement. "Yes, that's too much."
Joseph replied casually, "Oh, it's not because of that. It's just that my appetite is enough for ten people. Sorry about that. Bring it first, and if it's not enough, we'll order more."
Everyone was stunned by Joseph's revelation. What was going on?
While they were eating, an unwelcome guest arrived: Vice Principal Bidens. Seeing Tang Bruce, he smirked. "Oh? You came to eat right after being fired? What kind of trash are you? Aren't you going to look for another job?"
Bidens had come to the restaurant with some friends. He initially planned to talk to Tang Bruce about becoming a hostess and drinking companion, thinking he might forgive her if she complied, at least giving him some face in front of his friends. "Are you following me? I think you're just regretting it and want to come back, right?"
Tang Bruce ignored him, but Tangna frowned at the vice principal. "Mr. Bidens! How could you fire Ms. Tang Bruce? How dare you! I won't allow it!"
Bidens looked at Tangna, unimpressed. "You think I care about a little girl like you? You have no money, no connections. You're lucky I didn't expel you. Now you're just two pieces of trash."
Hearing this, Tang Bruce smirked. "I have no interest in drinking with someone like you and will never regret leaving the kindergarten. As for work, I'll find something better."
Bidens's face darkened. "You should know better. I'm only giving you a chance because you're still somewhat attractive."
Joseph stood up. "Bidens, you're out of line. Tang Bruce isn't your employee anymore. You have no right to interfere in her life."
Bidens glanced at Joseph disdainfully. "And who are you? You have no say here."
Tangna stepped forward. "Mr. Bidens, bullying people is wrong. I'm going to tell my dad to teach you a lesson."
Bidens rolled his eyes. "Your dad? Who cares about him? He can't even find you. What good is he?"
Turning, he suddenly noticed Lucy. "Hey, who's this beautiful woman? I've never seen you before."
Lucy, with her enduring beauty, caught Bidens's attention immediately. Despite everything that had happened, she remained stunning, something unimaginable for most people.
Joseph approached and said, "Do you really think you have the right to talk to my woman like that? Are you looking for trouble?"
To Joseph, Bidens was nothing but trash, easy to deal with in an instant.
