Chapter 91: I Don't Want to See Him Again
Bidens knew he couldn't possibly win a fight against Joseph. He immediately took out his phone and made a call.
"Hello, are you guys still around? I need some help. Come down here and teach a lesson to the trash in the lobby. Someone is giving me trouble, hurry up!"
Hearing this, Tang Bruce became anxious. She knew Joseph was trying to help her, and if something happened to him because of her, it would be terrible. She quickly spoke up.
"If you have a grudge, take it up with me, not with anyone else! Mr. Joseph is innocent!"
Bidens sneered, "Afraid now? Too late!"
Joseph patted Tang Bruce's shoulder, indicating she didn't need to worry. But how could she not worry?
Bidens gave a lecherous smile. "Oh, you're defending him? Fine, come over and have a drink with us. Then I might not let them rough him up."
Tang Bruce felt uncomfortable. "I-I don't drink."
Bidens didn't care. "Oh, you don't drink? Then you can learn."
Just then, a few men started walking toward Tang Bruce. Recognizing them as Jackson's former subordinates, Tang Bruce's heart sank. Even though Jackson was dead, his men still controlled the underground scene in Los Angeles. Among them was a new leader named Tonksen, who had taken over Jackson's position.
Seeing Bidens and Tonksen together made Tang Bruce even more nervous. Lucy was also visibly anxious.
However, Joseph remained unfazed as he looked at Tonksen. "Bidens, either you kneel and apologize to Tang Bruce now, or get lost. If you anger me, you won't leave here alive."
Bidens laughed. "Ha! Do you think you can intimidate me?"
Tonksen stepped forward, sizing up Joseph with a hint of surprise. He then sneered at Bidens. "Is this the guy you're having trouble with?"
Bidens nodded eagerly. "Yes, Tonksen, you have to teach him a lesson!"
Joseph, unfazed, asked Tonksen, "Do you want to try?"
Tonksen's face darkened as he took a step forward, exuding a powerful aura. But then, to everyone's shock, Tonksen suddenly knelt before Joseph.
"What are you doing?" Bidens exclaimed in disbelief. "Tonksen, what are you doing?"
Ignoring Bidens, Tonksen addressed Joseph with utmost respect. "Greetings, my lord! It's an honor to see you. What brings you here? Please forgive my inadequate hospitality."
Bidens, Lucy, and Tang Bruce were all stunned. How could the powerful Tonksen, the new leader of Los Angeles's underground, kneel before Joseph?
"What... what's happening?" Bidens stammered in disbelief. "Tonksen, you must be mistaken..."
Tonksen shot him a deadly glare. "Shut up! Do you know who this is? If you say another word, I'll kill you myself!"
Realizing his mistake, Bidens fell silent. Tonksen turned back to Joseph, filled with fear and respect. "My lord, please forgive me. I didn't know he was bothering you. I'll make sure he never troubles you again."
Joseph coldly replied, "I don't want to see him here anymore."
Bidens tried to speak, but Tonksen kicked him hard, forcing him to kneel. "You'd better apologize to Mr. Joseph right now!"
As Bidens hit the ground, Tonksen pressed his head down, forcing him to bow. "I'm sorry, Mr. Joseph. Please forgive me!"
Joseph waved dismissively, signaling Tonksen to stop. "That's enough. I don't want to see him again."
Tonksen nodded, eager to please. "Of course, my lord. I'll take care of it immediately."
Tonksen then dragged Bidens out by the collar. Once they were gone, Joseph turned to Tang Bruce and reassured her, "Don't worry. He won't bother you again."
Tang Bruce nodded gratefully, while Lucy couldn't contain her curiosity. "Joseph, who are you? Why does Tonksen treat you with such respect?"
Joseph smiled. "That's a long story. I'll tell you about it someday."
As their meal continued, the tension gradually dissipated. Joseph realized that if this matter wasn't resolved, it would cause more problems in the future. He looked at Tang Bruce.
"I know you're a good teacher. After dinner, we'll go talk to the principal. This vice principal Bidens shouldn't have so much power."
