Chapter 204: The Reaper Organization
Longrich's son had been kidnapped, but instead of demanding a ransom or any specific action, the kidnappers warned Longrich not to cooperate with the Hell Organization. They threatened to kill his son if he continued working with them. Fearing for his son's life and unable to disclose the situation, Longrich felt forced to take steps to sever his ties with the Hell Organization, hoping this would prevent retaliation from the powerful group.
As Longrich spoke with Joseph, he tried to mask his fear. "I'm sorry, Mr. Joseph. You know we've been working together for a while, but..."
Joseph interrupted, sensing something was off. "Is there something you're not telling me? Are you in trouble?"
"No," Longrich quickly denied, shaking his head. "Mr. Joseph, I think you misunderstood. I have no intention of rejecting you."
Joseph felt a glimmer of hope, but Longrich's hesitation made him press further. "But what?"
Longrich hesitated again before saying, "It's just that, Mr. Joseph, I..."
"Stop!" Joseph cut him off. "I know what you're going to say, but I'm not interested in hearing it."
Joseph leaned in closer. "What I want to know is, if we continue this partnership, will you be able to handle all the conditions and rules I'll lay out? Do you have the guts for it?"
Longrich could only shake his head in resignation. "I'm sorry, but I don't have that kind of courage. I need you to do something for me—let’s end this."
Joseph narrowed his eyes. "So, you're saying you don't want to continue with this deal? If that's the case, then farewell. Just don't regret this decision."
Longrich nodded, though his words were insincere. Joseph knew there was more Longrich wasn't telling him but couldn’t figure out what or who was behind his reluctance.
As Joseph left Longrich’s office, he began walking toward a more secluded area. Suddenly, he felt someone watching him.
With a cold smirk, Joseph turned around to face the person following him. A man in a suit, holding a notebook, was staring at him as if gathering information.
"Who are you?" Joseph demanded, never having seen this man before. The man remained silent, merely observing Joseph.
Then, without warning, the man in the suit pulled out a gun and fired at Joseph. Joseph dodged the bullet and noticed more men emerging from the shadows—about a dozen, all wearing strange clown masks.
Recognizing the masks, Joseph smirked. "Ah, the Reaper Organization, huh?"
He laughed. "I knew there had to be more to Longrich suddenly ending our partnership."
The masked men charged at Joseph, but they were no match for him. Joseph threw a punch, but something felt off—his fist struck the assailant as if hitting solid stone. The impact hurt his hand.
"What the hell?" Joseph thought, feeling the pain in his fist. These men were far tougher than expected.
"Kill him!" the masked men shouted, rushing toward Joseph. Joseph leaped into the air, delivering a powerful kick that sent one of the men crashing to the ground, taking several others down with him.
Suddenly, a dark aura emanated from the fallen man, who now stood up and smirked at Joseph. "Kid, this is all your fault."
Joseph's eyes narrowed as he stared at the man. "So, you’re the one causing all this trouble?"
The cloaked man sneered. "If you don't shut up, I'll kill you myself!"
But before Joseph could respond, the man attacked. Joseph quickly assessed the situation. These men seemed to have undergone some kind of biological enhancement, with bodies reinforced to an almost indestructible level. They likely had chips from Longrich’s company embedded in them, making them even more formidable.
Realizing this, Joseph's eyes narrowed further. The cloaked man taunted Joseph, expecting fear, but Joseph remained calm. "You think I’m afraid of you? That’s too bad because I’m very interested in what’s been done to your bodies."
With that, Joseph began to walk away. But as he took a few steps, the cloaked man let out a mocking laugh, followed by an explosion.
Joseph turned back to see the man standing amidst the flames, unharmed. "Don’t let me see you again," the man warned.
Joseph finally understood the strength behind their enhanced bodies, even withstanding explosions. He stopped and turned around, charging back into the fray.
Before the man could react, Joseph landed a powerful blow on one of the henchmen, aiming directly at his head. Joseph had figured out their weakness—despite their reinforced bodies, their heads were still vulnerable.
With this knowledge, Joseph made quick work of the remaining men. The survivors were stunned, watching in disbelief as Joseph easily took down their comrades.
Panicking, they pulled out their guns and fired at Joseph. But he deftly dodged the bullets, grabbing a nearby chair and hurling it at them. The chair, still connected to an electrical cord, caused the bullets to ricochet, exploding upon impact.
Realizing they were outmatched, the surviving attackers retreated, leaving Joseph to laugh coldly. "You’re too late if you think you can catch me now!"
With that, Joseph sprinted away, leaving the chaos behind.
