Chapter 203: Looking Down on Me?
The document displayed the function and usage of a particular chip. The accompanying diagram provided an overview of the chip, which was made from a special material that could activate a defense system when the user was harmed, preventing further injury. It could also be used as a weapon to help the user escape in critical situations. However, it had a drawback—if the user didn’t want it anymore, they would have to replace the chip, or else the entire system would be rendered useless.
"This is quite an interesting device," Joseph remarked as he arrived at the building.
The security guards at the entrance looked at Joseph and Whip God with disdain, noticing their battle-worn clothes. "What are you two beggars doing here? Our building doesn’t allow people like you inside!"
"People like you don’t belong in the OYEN Group!" one of the guards sneered.
Joseph narrowed his eyes. "Are you discriminating against us?"
Already in a foul mood, Joseph swiftly kicked the guard, sending him flying. The guard cried out in pain as his colleagues helped him away.
One of the other guards couldn’t help but comment, "Boss, that beggar’s pretty strong, isn’t he?"
"Yeah, he looks tough!"
"Should we try to capture him and hand him over to the police? We might get a reward for it."
Joseph glanced at them briefly before continuing to walk forward, ignoring their chatter. As he and Whip God walked, they conversed.
"Mr. Whip God, I heard you have a daughter?" Joseph inquired.
Whip God nodded. "Yes, I do."
After sharing some of his experiences, Joseph explained why he was willing to go to such lengths to help Whip God and Gun God. Hearing this, Whip God frowned.
"So that’s how it is... I owe Gun God an apology."
Although Whip God had his own grudges against their enemies, Gun God had been dragged into the danger as well.
"Whether it’s about the chip or your daughter, I’ll stick around until you’ve sorted everything out," Whip God assured him.
"Thank you, sir..."
By then, Joseph and Whip God had entered the company’s premises. Joseph pointed to a security camera and instructed, "Tell your boss, Longrich, that we’re here. We’re their business partners!"
Previously, the AI had handled everything, so Joseph wasn’t sure why things had gone wrong now. However, the company staff, unaware of Joseph's actual connection, assumed he was here to cause trouble. They immediately attacked him, but Joseph effortlessly subdued them within moments.
After dealing with the guards, Joseph and Whip God made their way to the CEO's office. Upon reaching the door, they noticed a meeting was in progress. Joseph knocked and then entered.
Seeing Joseph, Longrich froze. "What are you doing here?"
The high-ranking executives standing beside Longrich were equally stunned by Joseph’s sudden appearance.
Joseph smirked coldly. "I heard your company’s new chip is ours?"
Longrich’s lips curled into a scornful smile. "Of course."
"Then why did our chip malfunction during use?!" Joseph demanded.
Longrich, uninterested in talking to Joseph, summoned his two bodyguards. But the bodyguards were no match for Joseph, especially with Whip God by his side. Whip God easily disarmed them with a few swipes of his whip, leaving their arms broken.
Joseph sat down on a sofa, crossing his legs. "Mr. Longrich, is our partnership just empty talk? You’re deceiving your customers."
Longrich glared at Joseph, letting out a cold laugh. "We’ve never deceived anyone."
Joseph’s anger flared. "Never? Then why did your company’s representative tell me this issue was related to you?"
Longrich narrowed his eyes. "Whether it is or isn’t, I won’t admit to anything."
"In that case, we have nothing more to discuss!" Joseph stood up. "Your faulty chip is equivalent to endangering our people. The only way to address this is through your death."
At these words, Longrich jumped to his feet, pointing at Joseph. "Are you from the Hell Organization?"
He hadn’t expected the Hell Organization to send someone to question him. If it had been any other organization, he might have bluffed his way through, but the Hell Organization...
Longrich coughed nervously. "Sir, perhaps I misspoke. I realize now that I haven’t done anything against your organization. There’s no issue with the chip."
"Oh? Is that so?" Joseph’s tone drew Longrich’s attention. He scrutinized Joseph.
"Sir, may I ask who this gentleman is...?" Longrich inquired, clearly uneasy.
Joseph chuckled. "It doesn’t matter who I am. If you lie to me, I’ll deal with you myself because you don’t deserve to live."
He raised his hand threateningly, and Longrich’s face paled. He hadn’t expected Joseph to be so formidable.
"Mr. Longrich, I’m being kind by giving you a chance to walk out of here alive. If you don’t believe me, you’re welcome to see if you can escape this situation."
With that, Joseph stepped away from the sofa. Longrich quickly responded, "I think this situation is rather delicate. If we’re going to collaborate, we need to find a solution that works for both of us. This matter is significant, so please consider it carefully."
Joseph could see that Longrich was trying to end their partnership. The faulty chip had been intentional. Joseph realized they were likely withholding the best chips to prevent his AI from learning and replicating their technology.
As Longrich continued to plead with Joseph, the latter remained silent, knowing that Longrich was scared.
"You’d better understand that if our partnership ends, you’ll regret it," Joseph warned.
What Joseph didn’t know was that Longrich was also in a difficult position.
