Chapter 202: The Chip
As the assassins charged at Joseph, he didn't hesitate to raise his gun and start shooting. The assassins were no match for Joseph; their bodies were riddled with bullet holes before they even realized what was happening. Within seconds, Joseph had taken down more than twenty of them. Such terrifying firepower was rare but understandable, given the situation. After all, it was one man against a hundred.
Joseph quickly scanned the area and checked his watch. "We need to hurry!" he urged before turning and walking away.
The remaining assassins stood there, stunned and unsure of what to do. They knew they had to come up with a plan quickly, or it would be too late.
Soon, two more helicopters arrived overhead, and the assassins launched a full assault. However, Joseph and his team had already retreated to the helicopter he had prepared.
"We're almost safe!" Joseph announced. But just then, Gun God was hit by an anti-aircraft round, and blood poured from his chest.
"Master!" Joseph cried out, realizing they were surrounded by enemies and had no way out. But suddenly, the sound of numerous planes filled the air. It seemed like all hope was lost, but then Joseph noticed that these planes were friendly.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Joseph," the AI explained. "We were worried about your safety, so we brought Beelzebub and the others to assist you!"
Joseph now understood why these reinforcements had arrived. It was fortunate he had prepared for this, or things might have turned out differently.
"Master Gun God!" Joseph rushed to the fallen Gun God and held him. "Master, please, you have to wake up!"
Despite Joseph's desperate pleas, Gun God remained unresponsive. Joseph knew that if he didn't act soon, they would all die there. Standing up, he spoke to Gun God, who lay unconscious.
"Master, I won't let your efforts be in vain. Rest here for now; I’ll get you back to the base!"
Gun God managed to nod slightly before closing his eyes, tears streaming down his face. Joseph, fueled by anger, picked up his gun and charged toward the remaining assassins.
"Kill them! We must avenge our master!" he shouted.
The group echoed his cry and charged forward, their determination striking fear into their enemies. The assassins couldn’t believe the ferocity of Joseph’s attack. It was as if he had no fear of the consequences, as if he didn’t care about his own life.
Joseph continued his relentless assault, moving through the crowd, his sniper rifle taking down assassin after assassin. He didn’t stop until every last one of them was dead.
With the immediate threat neutralized, Joseph realized they needed to leave quickly. "Let’s get the master back to the base before reinforcements arrive!"
Once they were on the helicopter, Joseph examined Gun God's wound. The chest injury was severe, and it wasn’t healing. "Master!"
It was clear that Gun God’s condition was critical. Suddenly, Joseph noticed a few silver needles embedded in Gun God's body. "Remove the needles," he instructed. Once they were removed, they rushed Gun God to the Hell Organization’s medical facility.
During the treatment, Joseph asked the AI, "Why were Gun God and Whip God injured so badly?"
The AI explained, "We discovered that both of them were implanted with a suspicious chip. This chip was supplied by one of our business partners, the OYEN Group. We hadn't used it ourselves, but they took it and used it."
The chip, made by the OYEN Group, was designed for weapons and protective measures, but it had caused significant harm instead. Joseph narrowed his eyes in realization. "This shouldn't have happened. What’s going on?"
"Lord Reaper, do you think they deliberately used faulty chips to sabotage us?" the AI suggested. Joseph’s eyes widened as the realization hit him.
So that’s what it was! Gun God and Whip God were injured because of their connection to him. Joseph couldn’t let this go unpunished.
"Prepare a helicopter for me!" Joseph commanded, planning to head to the OYEN Group to deal with this issue personally.
Meanwhile, Gun God had regained consciousness. Joseph approached him, and Gun God smiled. "Thank you, young brother. If it weren't for you, we wouldn't have survived."
Joseph humbly replied, "I only did what I could. The real credit goes to your strength."
Gun God, understanding Joseph’s intentions, asked, "Do you need something from us?"
Joseph nodded and explained his daughter’s condition. "Once you’ve recovered, could you help treat my daughter?"
Gun God laughed. "I thought it was something serious. It’s a small matter."
Joseph scratched his head sheepishly. "It’s important to me."
Gun God reassured him, "Don’t worry. Once I’m healed, I’ll personally help your daughter."
Hearing this, Joseph was overjoyed, almost moved to tears. Finally, his daughter could be cured.
After ensuring Gun God was in good hands, Joseph approached Whip God. "How are you feeling?"
"I’m doing alright," Whip God replied.
"Would you be willing to help me with something?" Joseph asked.
"Of course."
They boarded the helicopter and flew to the OYEN Group’s headquarters. Joseph couldn’t let these people off easily; he intended to give them a stern warning.
On the way, Joseph explained the situation with the chip to Whip God, who was stunned. "So that’s the reason!"
Meanwhile, in the OYEN Group’s conference room, the CEO held up a document. "This is the latest chip. I’m sure you’re all aware of its capabilities," he said with a smile as he passed the document around to everyone present.
