Chapter 201: Together

Seeing their boss’s condition, the underlings were stunned and quickly asked him what had happened. "Ahhhhhh!" The boss let out an enraged scream. "Joseph! How dare you come onto my turf and blind me! We’re now sworn enemies!" Joseph coldly replied, "Sworn enemies? You have to be able to stand up first!" Seeing how effortlessly Joseph killed people, Whip God and Gun God exchanged glances. "It seems we owe him another favor," one of them said. They began to retreat while Joseph covered their rear. However, the number of enemies was overwhelming. Even if they managed to reach the helicopter, they might not be able to take off safely. Joseph noticed more enemies approaching from a distance. He rushed forward and eliminated them all in one swift motion, killing them without hesitation. Seeing this, Whip God and Gun God quickly tried to retreat back to the helicopter. But before they could reach it, they were surrounded once again. This time, the encirclement was much larger, with even more men surrounding the helicopter. Seeing the large group of enemies, they suddenly remembered the men armed with anti-aircraft guns, and their hearts sank. Whip God looked at Joseph, who was standing on the helicopter. "Joseph, go! Leave us! We’ll find our own way out!" Whip God shouted. "Yeah, go! They’ve already surrounded us. We’re not getting out of this alive!" Gun God added. The two of them were out of options and had no choice but to tell Joseph to leave them behind. But Joseph frowned. He had come here to help them, so leaving them behind wasn’t an option. But he also knew that their instincts were sharp; if they said they couldn’t escape, it was likely true. Joseph didn’t want to end things this way. "Joseph, you should leave. We’re old, but you’re still young. You can’t die here!" they urged him. Joseph waved them off. "I didn’t come here to leave you behind. I’m getting you out of here!" Gun God sighed, not knowing what else to say. "Well, just remember, if you stay, no one will be able to save you. I saw a few anti-aircraft guns aimed at our helicopter." Hearing this, Joseph frowned. He hadn’t expected the enemy to have such heavy firepower. But knowing that now didn’t help much. The only solution was to get the helicopters airborne as quickly as possible. But no matter how skilled someone is, they can’t guarantee they’ll survive against dozens of rocket launchers, let alone anti-aircraft guns. Rockets fly much faster than bullets, after all. Gun God suddenly spoke up. "Even with a handgun, it’s hard to hit a target, let alone with these rockets. Maybe they won’t hit me." Whip God chuckled at Gun God’s remark. "Only you could make a joke in a situation like this." Joseph was skilled, but he wasn’t invincible. He feared death, just like anyone else, especially since everyone here was at risk of dying. However, Joseph quickly shook off his fear. He wasn’t going to leave; he would face this with Gun God and Whip God. "I’m staying. I’m not leaving!" Hearing this, Gun God and Whip God exchanged resigned smiles. They knew Joseph’s stubborn nature; once he made a decision, he wouldn’t change it. The situation was becoming increasingly dire. The three of them were surrounded, and their only hope of survival was to break through the encirclement. Even though they knew their chances were slim, they had to try. Joseph looked at Gun God and Whip God and said, "Gun God, Whip God, let’s break through together!" "Alright!" they responded in unison. The three of them then turned and charged toward the encirclement. They knew this might be their final stand, so they put everything they had into the fight. Joseph used his knife to slash the throats of several men, while Gun God shot a few others, and Whip God used his whip to take down more. Despite their efforts, all three were hit multiple times. Fortunately, none of the hits were fatal, or they would have been done for. Gun God wiped the blood from his face and sneered. "These guys are really going all out. They’ve sent so many men and so much firepower." "Yeah, but they won’t have a good outcome," Whip God replied, knocking down another enemy who tried to ambush him. "If it was just regular firepower, it wouldn’t be so bad. But they have anti-aircraft guns. That’s the real problem." "Exactly. But if we don’t move, we’re as good as dead!" "They won’t let us go!" Whip God took down another enemy while keeping an eye on their surroundings. "We can’t give them any opportunities, or we’ll be in serious trouble. I know you don’t like killing this many people, but sometimes, to survive, you have to do what’s necessary." Joseph understood this truth. "You’re right. We can’t just wait for them to fire. That would put us at a disadvantage. We need to take the initiative." With that, Joseph began attacking the men in front of him, determined to break through the encirclement. Their goal was to escape, so they didn’t hold back. In this situation, no one had the upper hand; it was all about courage and willpower. As long as they were stronger than their enemies, they could survive. Whip God and Gun God knew this too, so the three of them charged toward the encirclement. The enemies were ready, knowing their opponents would make a move, and watched intently. Just when the enemies thought they had the upper hand, Joseph and the others reached them and began fighting fiercely. Joseph, though proficient with guns, rarely used them because he didn’t like killing with such a small weapon. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t skilled with it. To him, guns were tools for hitting specific targets, but real damage came from other methods. And now, he was ready to use his hands.
