Chapter 124: Threatening the Rick Family

At this moment, Honcase had no idea what was happening! To her, the only thing she knew was that her husband suddenly started acting crazy and ignoring her! Rick and the others knew Honcase was in a bad mood. So, a few of them went to Honcase’s car. "Mom, you shouldn't talk about this so casually. You must know our family has provoked a significant figure now!" Honcase didn't care about any so-called big shot. "We have ruled Florida for so many years. Are you afraid of a few lackeys?" "Mom, this time it's different," Rick said seriously. "The other side might have superpowers. We can't take this lightly." Honcase scoffed. "Superpowers? Do you think I believe in such things?" But Rick insisted. "Mom, I saw him kill someone with his bare hands! How else could he have done it without superpowers?" Just then, a black car drove up and stopped beside them. The door opened, and a man in a black suit stepped out. "Are you the Honcase family?" the man asked coldly. Rick eyed him warily. "Who are you?" "I am here to warn you," the man said. "If you continue causing trouble, you will face the consequences." With that, the man turned and left. Honcase glared at his retreating back. "Arrogant! We're not afraid of you!" Seeing the man’s attire, Rick realized something. "Mom, did you see that? He works for that big shot we've been talking about!" "I bet that big shot knows we’re here and sent his man to give us a warning!" "Mom, do you know how terrifying that big shot is? He's..." After Rick explained everything that had happened, Honcase was still indifferent. "So what! I've seen plenty of big shots in my life!" Seeing Honcase still not convinced, Rick sighed. "Mom, do you know who that big shot is? It's Joseph, the leader of Hell!" Despite her age, Honcase knew about the Hell organization. Hearing that this man was associated with Hell, Honcase’s eyes widened in fear, almost causing her a heart attack. Honcase’s face turned pale as she finally realized the gravity of the situation. "Oh my God, the leader of Hell... Rick, what should we do?" "They're not going to kill me because I shouted at Susan, are they... I don’t want to die, son!" Her voice was filled with fear. Rick took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. "Mom, we can't panic. Now that we’ve stirred up this trouble, we have to find a way to resolve it." "But how can we fight the leader of Hell? He must have immense power and influence." Rick thought for a moment. "Maybe we can seek help from other forces. There must be others in Florida who can stand up to Hell. We need to find them and form an alliance." Honcase nodded, still fearful but knowing her son was right. They had to act or their entire family might face annihilation. So, Honcase and Rick began searching for reliable allies to prepare for the upcoming challenge. However, Rick knew that following Joseph and not angering him was the real solution. Despite Honcase's insistence on contacting Joseph’s adversaries, Rick took no action. Instead, he focused on trying to make Joseph understand their position. Meanwhile, after sending his man away, Joseph returned home. Seeing Joseph come back, Tangna ran up and hugged him. "Daddy, you're finally home! I haven't seen you in so long!" "Daddy, do you notice anything different about me?" Joseph smiled and picked Tangna up, kissing her cheek. "Let Daddy see what’s different about you." He looked at her closely and noticed she seemed taller. "Tangna, you've grown taller! It looks like you’ve been eating well." Tangna beamed with pride. "Of course! I want to get stronger so I can protect Daddy!" Joseph felt a warm feeling in his heart and patted her head. "Thank you, Tangna. But Daddy will always protect you too." Tangna then remembered something. "Oh, Daddy, a strange lady came to see Aunt Susan today. She said she’s Aunt Susan’s grandfather’s wife." Joseph’s expression didn’t change because he knew everything happening outside. "What else did she say?" "She said she wanted to see you and... that you were ignoring her." Joseph smiled. "Daddy won't pay attention to useless people. My main focus is taking care of you and your mommy!" "Let's go check out a kindergarten for you later. It’s about time you started school." Upon hearing she had to go to kindergarten, Tangna pouted. "No, Daddy! I don’t want to go to kindergarten!" Joseph patiently tried to convince her. "Tangna, there will be lots of kids to play with in kindergarten." Tangna’s big eyes sparkled as she pleaded. "But I just want to be with Daddy." Joseph gently patted her back. "Daddy will miss you too, but you’ll learn a lot and make friends in kindergarten." Tangna pouted but agreed reluctantly. "Okay, but you have to pick me up every day after school." Joseph smiled and agreed. "Of course, Daddy will pick you up every day." Although Joseph would eventually go to New York, letting Tangna attend kindergarten here wasn't because he wanted to separate from Tangna and her mother. He knew New York was more dangerous. Florida, being the second-largest city after New York, was a much safer place for children. Moreover, the Kerry family in New York posed a significant threat. Taking Tangna and her mother to New York could expose them to unknown dangers.
