Chapter 120: Return to Florida
At this moment, only a few bodyguards remained around Kerry Simon. Joseph and Kainan exchanged glances and prepared to take action.
Kerry Simon suddenly fired a shot at Kainan, but Kainan's quick reflexes saved him from being hit in a vital area.
Kainan looked at Kerry Simon with a mixture of frustration and surprise.
"Hey, old man, why are you trying to shoot at my family jewels?"
"Do you think the people around you can protect you?"
It wasn’t just Kerry Simon who was afraid of Joseph and Kainan; his subordinates were also terrified of these two men.
Kainan seemed invincible, and Joseph appeared like a ghost, showing up behind them unnoticed.
The fear was palpable among everyone present.
"Are you Kerry Simon?" Joseph asked, his voice icy.
"Y-Yes... that's me," Kerry stammered.
"Do you know your crimes?" Joseph's voice was like a chilling breeze.
Kerry Simon trembled uncontrollably.
"I... I don't understand. What crimes?"
Joseph scoffed. "Do you know Kabin? He claimed you could fix any trouble he caused because you're his father. Is that true?"
Kerry Simon's face turned ashen. "N-No, I don't have that kind of power!"
Joseph produced evidence, displaying it before Kerry Simon. The footage showed Kabin, looking desperate, speaking into the camera.
"My dad, Kerry Simon, isn't just anybody. He can solve anything for you!"
"My dad is amazing; I'm telling the truth!"
Kerry Simon sighed deeply, his face reflecting resignation.
"Mr. Joseph, let me explain. This man is not my son but merely my daughter's lover. We have no significant relationship."
"If he's offended you, I apologize on his behalf."
Kerry Simon found himself trapped by Kabin's actions. He had to deal with the repercussions of Kabin’s deeds, despite his personal disdain for him.
Joseph's gaze was piercing.
"It doesn’t matter if he's your son-in-law or not. Someone has to be accountable for his mess."
Sweat poured from Kerry Simon’s forehead.
"Mr. Joseph, please show mercy. I'm willing to pay any price."
Joseph laughed coldly. "That depends on your performance. I need you to use all your resources to assist Kainan in investigating that mysterious force."
Kerry Simon eagerly nodded. "No problem. I'll do everything I can to help."
Joseph turned to Kainan.
"Kainan, you have a new mission. Take his men and uncover the truth."
Kainan responded enthusiastically. "Yes, Mr. Joseph!"
With the situation under control, Kerry Simon blurted out, "Mr. Joseph, where is Kabin now? If you don't mind, let me deal with him myself. I need to teach that brat a lesson!"
Joseph looked up indifferently. "He's dead."
Kerry Simon seemed taken aback, then unexpectedly relieved. "Thank goodness! I’ve wanted to kill him for a long time but never figured out how. You’ve saved me the trouble. Thank you!"
Joseph hadn't anticipated Kabin being so despised. With that settled, he had no further words for Kerry Simon. He turned to leave.
Unbeknownst to Joseph, Kerry Simon's relief was an act. As soon as Joseph left, Kerry Simon summoned his men.
"Find out who these two are! I will have my revenge!"
Joseph had his reasons for sparing Kerry Simon. As the wealthiest man in Texas, killing him could have significant repercussions, potentially causing widespread panic and economic instability.
Joseph didn’t want to antagonize the entire state. His visit was a warning, not a declaration of war. If Kerry Simon persisted in his actions, Joseph would consider further measures.
With his business in Texas concluded, Joseph drove back to Florida. Before leaving, he made arrangements for Kainan to take Zesasus's place, ensuring stability in Texas.
Joseph pondered the situation. Matters abroad couldn’t be delayed. After today, he needed to plan his trip to New York.
He had promised Tangna and Lucy a trip to New York, but he had to ensure their safety first. The Kerry family posed a threat he needed to neutralize.
As he drove back to Florida, Joseph vowed, "Kerry family, wait for me. I will make sure you all suffer. Otherwise, I’ll write my name backward."
Upon returning to Florida, Joseph didn’t go home immediately. He decided to stay at the business center to avoid disturbing Tangna and the others.
However, as he opened the door to the business center, he encountered a familiar face.
"Maiden? What are you doing here?"
Maiden, dressed seductively, waited in the conference room of the business center. Clearly, she had been expecting him.
Joseph frowned, unsure why she was there. Was there an emergency?
"Joseph, I have something important to tell you."
Joseph felt a sense of urgency.
"What is it?"
"Although I'm from Florida, I have connections in New York."
"Mr. Joseph, I’m sorry, but I saw the letter addressed to you. I must warn you, dealing with matters in New York won't be easy!"
