Chapter 119: Infiltrating the Mansion of the Wealthiest Man
Joseph didn't think much further. Since Kainan agreed to join him, it was time to deal with the man before him.
"Alright, Zesasus, it's time for our date."
He donned a golden mask and gripped a dagger, ready to act.
Everyone knew that once he wore the golden mask, it meant he was prepared to kill.
"Wow!" Kainan's eyes sparkled with interest as he watched from the side. "This is amazing—"
"I can't believe I get to witness the Hell Reaper in action!"
Seeing Joseph's serious demeanor, Zesasus was completely dumbfounded.
"Joseph, please listen to me!" he pleaded, fear evident in his voice. "I didn't mean to harm you. I am truly loyal to you!"
"Believe me, my loyalty to you is genuine!"
Joseph shrugged indifferently. "Oh? But I don't quite believe you."
"If Kainan were not someone I knew, wouldn't you have already tried to kill me?"
"Don't think I don't know what kind of person you are."
Joseph didn't intend to waste any more time. With a slight exertion of his hand, he slashed Zesasus's body with the dagger.
Blood gushed from the wound, and Zesasus's mouth gaped open in shock before he finally fell silent.
"Am I... dying?"
Joseph looked at him coldly, not responding.
In his final moments, Zesasus cursed loudly, "Joseph, I curse you!"
"I curse you and Kainan to never find happiness. I curse you both to die horribly!"
But Joseph paid him no heed. He turned and left with Kainan, not sparing another glance at the doomed Zesasus.
As Joseph departed, Kainan quickly ran to his side.
"Sir, when can I join Hell?"
Joseph asked calmly, "Do you understand anything about Hell?"
Kainan shook his head, looking a bit embarrassed.
Joseph continued, "What have you accomplished here? Let me tell you, Zesasus was a traitor who betrayed Hell. You working for him yet wanting to join us makes me question your loyalty."
Kainan quickly responded, "I was deceived! He knew I wanted to join Hell, so he claimed to be a part of it. Joseph, I swear I'm telling the truth!"
"If you don't believe me, I have something important to tell you!"
Joseph raised an eyebrow. "What is it?"
Kainan spoke urgently, "Recently, a mysterious force has appeared in the city, manipulating everything from the shadows. I discovered they are connected to the people who tried to kill me years ago!"
Joseph's interest was piqued. It seemed Kainan had gone through a lot in the past two years.
"And..."
Kainan leaned in and whispered, "I suspect they are connected to a group in New York!"
Joseph's eyes narrowed. Things were getting more complicated.
"New York?"
That was exactly where he needed to go!
It seemed everything was interconnected. Joseph decided to cooperate with Kainan to investigate this mysterious force.
"Alright, I'll give you a test. Subdue everyone in Texas, including those in this organization and the mysterious force. That's your task."
"If you succeed, I'll believe in your strength. If not... don't blame me."
Kainan hesitated but then said, "Can I really do it?"
"Of course," Joseph said, patting Kainan's shoulder.
"I believe in you. But be careful and don't expose yourself."
"If you don't trust yourself, how can I trust your abilities?"
"Do you think anyone can join Hell just like that?"
Kainan nodded, feeling encouraged.
"Don't worry, Joseph. I'll complete the mission!"
As Kainan was about to leave, Joseph stopped him.
"Wait, there's something else I need to do first. I need to find someone."
"Who?"
"Someone named Kerry Simon, the wealthiest man in Texas."
After killing Kabin, Joseph needed to address these people before they came looking for him. If it could be resolved peacefully, all the better. If not...
Soon, Joseph and Kainan arrived at Kerry Simon's mansion.
It was a grand estate, resembling a castle.
Since they hadn't been invited, they couldn't enter.
Impatient, Kainan got out of the car and knocked down all the guards, even kicking down the tightly shut gate.
Seeing a formidable opponent, Simon's family members rushed out. Joseph told Kainan, "Handle them, but remember, no killing."
"Killing isn't good for us."
Kainan nodded, "Got it!"
Without hesitation, he charged into the crowd, swiftly taking down several people.
Joseph stood calmly, watching.
In no time, Kainan had easily subdued everyone.
"Done!"
Kainan stood proudly next to Joseph, smiling.
"Good job," Joseph praised. "But let's avoid unnecessary conflict."
They entered the mansion to find Kerry Simon.
After searching, they finally found him in a luxurious study.
