Chapter 25: A Diary and a Dream

I picked up the diary on the floor and opened it before going to the bed. Memories of my childhood slowly came back to me. The casual graffiti from my childhood now seemed like from a different world. It suddenly occurred to me that I had always liked to draw since I was young. Moreover, I had always had a unique perception of the moon goddess. Now that these memories seemed to have disappeared, my perception of the moon goddess had also significantly weakened. I heard from my neighbors that I would suddenly run away while playing outside. In the end, the place I ran to was a portrait or sculpture of the moon goddess. Moreover, my foster mother scolded me, "Wretched girl, you've never been normal since you were young. When we met you in the temple of the moon goddess, you insisted on becoming a nun. You even lost my favorite golden ring. If I had known you were so annoying, I would have thrown you in to be a nun." As I looked at the colorful graffiti on the diary, many memories suddenly returned to my mind. I still remembered the heavy rain when I returned from the market with my foster mother. We were not prepared and had nowhere to hide. We could only hide under a hundred-year-old tree with a few people who had returned from the market. I suddenly sensed the presence of the moon goddess and ran in one direction. My foster mother chased me over, and we walked out of a very inconspicuous forest before seeing the temple of the moon goddess, where we ate hot noodles and soup and slept well. When I went out the next day, I discovered that the people waiting out the rain with us had been captured and eaten by the primitive wolf tribe nearby. I didn't lose my foster mother's ring either. Instead, she wanted to steal the golden Holy Grail in the church and was almost discovered. She lost it during her hurried escape. Thinking of this, I couldn't help but cry. I had always thought that it was my fault. In fact, I had saved her life. Amidst my crying, I suddenly realized that there seemed to be a painting hidden in my graffiti. I wiped my eyes curiously and wanted to take a closer look. Unexpectedly, the more I looked, the blurrier my vision became. A wolf's head gradually appeared in the painting and pounced at my face. Startled, I sat up with a shriek. Cold sweat covered my body. Only then did I realize that I had been dreaming. My childhood memories in the dream were real, but I didn't have a diary. Unable to fall asleep again, I quickly opened the cabinet. From the innermost corner, I found the diary I hadn't taken out for a long time. I opened the diary page with trepidation. Unexpectedly, although no wolf was pouncing out like in my dream, I saw a map. I drew out the map with bold strokes and realized that the graffiti meant that there was a place in the deepest part of the forest where the Lycan's treasure was buried. Whoever obtained the treasure would be blessed by the moon goddess and fulfill a wish. The next day, I called and invited the boys to my house for dinner. My clinic didn't open. I spent the entire day preparing good food to feed them. Just as I was pitting wits with the malfunctioned oven, Locas called. "Mia, I'm a little unsettled. It's not easy for you to treat me to a meal. Why don't you make it clear in advance so that I can be mentally prepared?" I tilted my head, grabbed the phone with my shoulder, and put the ciabatta bread in the oven. "What do you mean? It's just a meal. Will I poison you?" Locas chuckled softly. "I don't know that. I think you hate me especially. Perhaps you want to murder your husband." "Oh pooh! Get lost. If you don't want to eat, forget it. I don't need a guest like you." Locas teased me again before hanging up. I was already so busy. I didn't know why he was making matters worse. I had just marinated the steak and was resting on the sofa when the doorbell rang. Looking at the time, it was still early before dinner. Who could not wait to come? If I was not wrong, it should be Simon or the delivery man. My dryer was broken, and he said a few days ago that he would ask someone to send a new one. I opened the door with a smile on my face and froze. Why was it him? I instinctively wanted to slam the door shut, but the person had already predicted my movement. He pushed hard and squeezed past me to enter. My body trembled slightly. "What are you doing here?" He sized up my home without restraint, then turned around and revealed a lascivious smile. "My daughter, Mia, I haven't seen you home for so many days. Daddy misses you too much." That's right. The person who suddenly barged into my house was my foster father, my nightmare for more than ten years. He approached me step by step. "No wonder you didn't go home. You're living in such a good house now. Have you become the mistress of a rich man? Is that the man who beat me up and took you away? He's rich. I don't think he'll mind sponsoring your poor father." I immediately understood what he was thinking. I mustered my courage and sneered. "Simon is not ordinary. Don't even think about extorting him. Besides, he's just taking pity on me by lending me a house. The house has nothing to do with me." He shrugged. "I thought you were just a gold digger, but now it seems you do love him. But no matter what, I really miss you after not seeing you for so long. When I went to find a prostitute, my mind was filled with your appearance. Are you happy with that rich man? You must be a very experienced woman now. Why don't you give it a try with me? Although I'm a little older, I'm not inferior to young people in bed. It will make you happy and unable to leave me..." As he spoke, he pounced on me. I was on guard by hiding a small skillet behind me and slashed at his head with the skillet when he pounced on me. Unexpectedly, his neck tilted, and he dodged out of the way. I was shocked, and he snatched away the frying pan in my hand, threw it aside, locked my hands behind my head, and kissed my face brutally. In the past, he was more or less scrupulous. Although he touched me, he wouldn't dare to use force if I resisted strongly. Today, for some reason, he was so tough. I turned my face away, but he kissed my neck. The wet feeling made me feel so disgusted that I almost vomited. Oh my god, am I going to be bullied by this bastard today? I raised my knee, intending to give him a fatal blow. However, he predicted my movements and sandwiched my legs between his. He even rubbed his lower body against mine. The heavy breathing came from his throat, seemingly threatening to eat me alive. No, no, I screamed inside. Who can save me? Suddenly, he stopped. Then, he let out a scream like a pig being slaughtered and fell to the ground. I looked and saw Simon with bloodshot eyes. The usually calm and elegant Simon was furious. When I saw him, I threw myself into his arms and cried. "You're finally here to save me. I'm so scared..." He comforted me. "Don't cry. It's all my fault. I was supposed to come early, but something delayed me. Otherwise, he wouldn't have barged in." Finishing, he let go of me and looked coldly at my foster father, who was lying on the ground with blood all over his head. Only then did I realize that two masked men in black were standing behind him. Simon waved his hand, and the two men in black dragged my foster father out. He begged for mercy too loudly and was kicked in the head by a man in black. Then, he stopped moving. Simon hugged me. I could hear his steady and strong heartbeat. Slowly, I stopped being nervous. He looked at my reddened eyes and whispered, "Mia." Then he kissed me. Suddenly the door opened, and a voice cried in alarm, "What are you doing?" It turned out to be Locas, followed by Krell. I quickly straightened my clothes and said awkwardly, "The roasted bass is almost done. I'll take a look..." I left for the kitchen. However, Krell grabbed my arm. His face darkened. "What's that on your neck?" "What is it..." I subconsciously glanced at the mirror and realized that Simon had sucked a hickey on my neck. I blushed, and Krell looked even worse. He grabbed one of my arms to stop me from leaving and continued, "You called me here to see this?" At this moment, Simon came over and grabbed my other hand. "It's her freedom to do whatever she wants with whoever she wants. What right do you have to question her like this?" Simon had always been gentle and refined. He rarely got mad. Krell was stunned. At this moment, the door opened, and Willard came. Looking at the tense situation and the strange atmosphere, he glanced around and scratched his head as he asked me, "Damn, didn't you say you were going to find the treasure?" Yes, although I said I wanted to treat them to a meal, I didn't tell everyone my real purpose. I was afraid that they would disagree, so I only told Willard. As expected, the few people who were initially at daggers drawn asked curiously, "What treasure?" After I told them my plan, there was silence. What happened? What happened to them all? After a long time, Locas spoke first. "Those who agree to go to the forest to look for treasure, please raise your hands." I quickly raised my hand and realized that only Willard raised his hand with me. "The idea of a forest treasure hunt may sound exciting," said Locas, "but it's too dangerous for you to go." Krell also said coldly, "There are wild beasts and savages in the forest, and there are all kinds of dangers. You're going to search for treasure just because of a dream? Isn't that too childish?" Simon shook his head and said, "Mia, I'll buy you whatever you like. It's just a wish. I can fulfill any of your wishes." I was infuriated by their conceit. I only consulted them about anything because I treated them as friends, but they were rudely interfering with my decisions. I hated it. Furious, I stood up and announced loudly, "I'm just letting you know, not asking for your permission. I don't need any help from you. I'll talk to Willard, the only one who supports me when anything happens." I looked at the stunned men and pointed at the door. "Please leave, everyone." Seeing that I was furious and had even ordered them to leave, they looked at each other, and Locas suddenly laughed. "Since you insist on going, you must bring me along." Krell did not speak but pulled me into his arms abruptly.
