Honeymoon (2) "But.. we are so busy...besides Scarlett has her career.. she has to start working....and also the company...it's training some new talents lately...we have a lot to do. I don't think there's time to go on a honeymoon" Ryder said. Peter was speechless. Ryder could really come up with all kinds of excuses when he wanted to do something. What? Scarlett is busy? When has he ever been considerate of someone's else schedule? And he even knew about the company matters? This came as a surprise to Peter! Scarlett spoke up, "No matter what, I'm not going to do it! I'm not going on an honeymoon!" Vanessa frowned when she heard that she really did not know what was going on with this daughter of hers. Even though Ryder had rejected it just now, it was clear that it was because he was worried about her and his company... but Scarlett.. she acted as if it was such a bad thing for her to go on a honeymoon with her husband. What was that attitude? How did someone as good as Ryder take a liking to Scarlett and even marry her? Scarlett was her daughter but she instantly felt sorry for this son in law of hers! "Scarlett.. what is that attitude?!" Vanessa asked. Scarlett glaced at her mother and scoffed. She did not know anything. She did not tell her mother about what the marriage was really about because she did not want her to worry about her. She only said that she was getting married and said not to ask her any more questions. So of course her mother did not know that she and Ryder were not really married. She did not intend on telling her anyway. She could continue living this dream for the next six months. It had nothing to do with her anyway. The other two people in the room knew that Vanessa did not know the truth about the marriage and so everyone was put in a difficult situation. Peter finally broke the silence. "Scarlett.. just take it as you are going on a vacation. After all, you've taken a break from your work in the next one month. You've never really taken a break since you started working. Just take it as you are resting for a month" Peter said. Scarlett looked at Peter and seriously did not know what to say about him. The company was always arranging more work ever since she shot to fame. They never gave her time to rest and now they were suddenly talking about her taking a rest. It seemed that she knew where Ryder's shamelessness came from. "But..." Since he already put it that way, Scarlett did not know how she was supposed to react. Peter wasn't planning to give her a chance to refuse anyway. He immediately turned to Ryder. This son of hers was really something. He would never have believed it if someone told him that his son knew about the company matters but since he wanted to refuse him, it came in handy. "And Ryder... Matt and I can take care of the company matters before you come back. Nothing is going to happen when you are away. Since you are already married, you should enjoy your honeymoon" Peter said. The way he said it made it seem like Ryder was doing some real work in the company. In fact, it made it seem like Ryder was doing all the work and he and Matt were not just helping out. He really wanted to yell .." why are you suddenly concerned about the company! You've never cared before" But since Vanessa was here, he decided to hold himself back. He could only make it seem as if his son was actually hardworking. He apologized to Matt in his heart since he was making his son take all the credit for his work here right now. Vanessa finally spoke up. As expected, it was to scold Scarlett. "Scarlett...how can you be like this?! Even Ryder is letting of of his work so that he can spend time with you and you still don't want to go! You are no longer a young girl! You are already married! You should know how to think of your husband! Since he wants to go, you should already shut up and start preparing!" Vanessa said. Scarlett "....!!" She was secretly started to wonder if her mother had selective hearing. Did she only hear the things that she wanted to hear? When did Ryder even have any work that he wanted to let go of? And when did he agree to go on the damned honeymoon? Her words really did not give Ryder a way out! He clearly did not want to go but Vanessa made it seem as if he wanted to go and that she was the one interfering because she did not want him to go! Actually, Vanessa had done that on purpose. She knew that Ryder won't refuse if she said it that way. Ryder had no way of getting out of it since she already said that he agreed and Scarlett would just have to go along with what everyone wanted! Vanessa really did not want to come to this but she really did not want to see her daughter acting like this. She is already married. Does she have to be so cold? Isn't it just going on a honeymoon? Isn't it the same for other couples? Why does she have to be so mean? Peter looked over at Vanessa. He could see what she did. He smiled. It seemed that his in law was a pro at this. She knew how to twist words to make sure that she did not give Ryder a way out at all. He secretly gave her a thumbs in his heart. "It's settled then. The both of you will see out on your honeymoon tommorow" Peter said. There was really no way that Scarlett and Ryder could remain cool anymore. "tommorow?!" The both of them called out at the same time. The both of them really came here prepared right? They just forced everything down on her without giving her a chance to refuse right? Scarlett thought that she really had to hand it to these two people. Judging from the way they cooperated with each other, she really did not want to believe that they met each other outside! Just like that, Scarlett and Ryder were forced to go on a honeymoon! Scarlett comforted herself that it wasn't too bad. After all, she had been working so hard for the past years that she had never had the time for herself, to settle down and relax. She had never done that. It seemed that she would be able rest now. Whatever she was just going to ignore this idoit and have a really good time. "So where are you going to go for the honeymoon? I already have some places in mind..." Vanessa did not finish before Scarlett yelled "No!" Everyone's eyes turned to her. Scarlett cleared her throat. She really did not want to let her mother choose. She knew that things were just going to get even worse if she left this to her. She did not want that at all. "Anyway, we are the ones going on the honeymoon. You don't need to butt in. We'll talk about it and decide where he want to go" Scarlett said. Ryder thought about it. If he let his father choose the place, then he was sure that his life was going to be difficult for the next one month. Anyway, he had already decided to treat this as a rare vacation. He didn't want to bother about anything else and he really did not want his father to choose for him so he agreed with Scarlett. "Yes. We are the ones going on the honeymoon. We can definitely make the decision ourselves" Ryder said. It seemed that this was the first time that the both of them had actually agreed on something....too bad...that it had to be on a honeymoon that neither one of them wanted to go on and that they were being forced into right now. They really did not have a choice.... if there really did let thier parents choose this for them, then it would be over for them. Vanessa thought about it and she agreed that it won't seem good if she actually butted in like this and choose for them she had wanted to do it because she knew that Scarlett wasn't definitely going to think much of it and she was just going to pick some random place. She might not even leave the country! She knew the daughter of hers pretty well! A honeymoon was something that happened mostly once in a woman's life. She did not want her daughter to ruin it. But since this good son in law of hers agreed to it, she would just let it go. Peter would definitely vomit blood if he knew that Vanessa thought of his son as good! "Alright. After all, the both of you are the ones going. You choose where you are comfortable with" Vanessa said. Scarlett sighed in relief. She knew that the words that she said did no make any difference to her mother. It must be because of what Ryder said. It seemed that in just a short amount of time, Ryder had managed to impress her mother. How did he do it? Scarlett shook her head and thought that it was because her mother wanted her to get married so badly and she would probably be happy with just about anyone. She was even happy with that idoit Ryan before! ***** Scarlett and Ryder walked Vanessa Ana Peter to the door before they left the house. Immediately they were gone, the amiable smiles that they were on thier faces disappeared at once. The both of them knew that everything had been a show for Vanessa. She was the only one who knew that the marriage wasn't real at all. They did not want her to suspect anything so they definitely could not act cold to each other when she was here. Immediately she was gone, they returned to thier selves. "Damn! I can't believe this. I have to spend a month on a stupid honeymoon with you!" Ryder complained immediately. Scarlett looked at him with a blank expression. "Who is going on a honeymoon with you? I'm going on a vacation for a month! Seriously I've been working so hard and I haven't even had the time to relax...I can finally take time off and relax for a month. It's just too unfortunate that someone has to tag along with me. Whatever. Just forget it. I won't let it bother me" Scarlett said. She was going on a vacation and she has to bring an annoying person along. Forget it! He would come in handy. Anyway, he could help her carrying her shopping bags! Ryder "...." She adjusted her mind set really quickly. What? She is going on a honeymoon and he is just someone who is tagging along? She.... There really isn't a way that he can win against this woman. He would let it go. Ryder was angry that he has been defeated twice in one day. He really wanted to get back at her. He suddenly thought of something.
