[4/16, 2:50 PM] Sonia: Billioniare Contract Marriage The next day, Matt was meeting with Peter to talk about some company matters. After they were done talking, Peter lit a cigarette and handed it to Matt. Matt took it from him and Peter lit another one. Matt could not help asking, "sir, why did you make Ryder and Scarlett get Married? It's not because of the scandal right? You have another reason right? What's it?" "You figured it out?" He asked him. Matt smiled knowingly. He knew that for Peter to be this serious about the marriage and to agree like this, he was probably thinking about something. Thinking about how he led Ryder to believe that Scarlett had feelings for him yesterday, he was in a wonderful mood. After all, people who were watching from the sides were never afriad of the matter blowing up! Peter said, "Sigh, I really don't know what to do about this son of mine. I don't know why he is like this. I really hope...that Scarlett will be able to help him see that he is wrong. He really can't keep playing around with his life like this" Peter said. Matt "...." So the reason why he let the both of them get married was because he wanted to change his son's attitude? Even he thought that Ryder was being too much by living his life in this way but he really did not know what he was supposed to say to him anymore so he already gave up on him. He told himself that he just wasn't going to care about whatever he did anymore. Why did Peter think that Scarlett would be able to change him? And besides... Scarlett too....he really did not want to comment on her personality at all! Matt could only ask skeptically, "Do you think that this is going to work?" Peter sighed, "I'm really not hoping for much. Maybe if the both of them can develop feelings for each other along the way, then I'll be satisfied. Maybe they'll be able to live the rest of thier lives together. Ryder...I just want him to get his life back on track" Peter said. Matt was quiet for a few seconds. Actually, Ryder wasn't actually such a useless person who did not have dreams. He didn't use to be like this....after that break up with Mira.... He really could not bring himself to even blame Mira. She was wrong for what she did to him back then but still, Ryder had a choice to make. He is the one who chose to live his life the way he is living it right now. It would be really nice if he really could stop being this way but....he really did not think that someone can change another person. Even if someone could, that someone definitely won't be Scarlett. The both of them would just make each other personalities even more worse. "What do you think?" Peter asked Matt. Matt shrugged. "It would be great if it could happen not I really don't have ant hopes" Matt said. He had to be honest from the start. They must not have any unrealistic hopes from Scarlett. Peter sighed. Is there really no way? ****** Scarlett woke up in an unfamiliar environment. She looked around and realized that this wasn't her room. Where is she? She sat up and tried to figure out where she was. She remembered after a few seconds. Ha...she did get herself married off yesterday. Right now, she is her husband's house. What a joke! After she figured out, the memories of what happened last night came back to hit her. That idoit actually dared to come into her room! What does he think that he is doing? And he even said that he is going to make her fall in love with him? What a joke! Does he think that she is that easy to impress? Scarlett sighed and walked into the bathroom. At least the house was luxurious enough. Thirty minutes later, she was already done with her bath and dressed up. She picked up her bag and then she remembered that she did not have any schedules for today. Because she wanted people to believe that she actually got married, she actually took a month off from all her jobs. Now, she actually had nothing to do. Scarlett felt hurt that she was letting go of so many money making opportunities. But when she thought about how her entire career would have been gone if she did not do this, she comforted this. It was better to make a little sacrifice now. Scarlett was suddenly at a loss for what to do. What should she do now? She had already gotten used to working twenty hours every day. She suddenly did not have anything to do and she did not know how she was going to spend her time. She walked out of the room. Immediately she walked out, the door of the room besides her opened and Ryder walked out. It would have been quite normal if he weren't standing outside the door looking at her while he was shirtless! What is this person trying to do now? Scarlett could not help her eyes going down. She looked at his chest. She sneered in her mind. It seemed that he worked out a lot. How abs did look nice. She was suddenly wondering what it would feel like to touch it. Since it looks so good, it would be nice to the touch right? Realizing where her trains of thoughts were going, Scarlett berated herself. What is she thinking right now.? A calm mocking voice broke into her thoughts. "are you done looking?" Ryder asked, raising his eyebrows. It was obvious that he was mocking her. Scarlett could not be bothered to lie since she was caught. She scoffed. Why is he pretending. Isn't this what he wanted? But apparently, it seemed that Scarlett had over estimated Ryder. She felt that since they were all adults he was just going to let it go but he actually continued to mock her like a child! "I know that I have a great body but can you please not do this? You looking at me like this, it makes me feel like I'm being harrased!" Ryder said. Scarlett "...." What is wrong with this person? Even an idoit could tell that he did this on purpose, why is she suddenly the bad person? Scarlett could not be bothered to care anymore. She immediately retorted. "You came out of your room without wearing a shirt, isn't it because you want me to see?" She asked him in a calm voice. Ryder was expecting Scarlett to say this so he already had an argument in place. "This is my house and I'm used to living alone. How would I have known that you were this....lustful?" Ryder asked. Scarlett was completely enraged. This person doesn't have any shame right? Alright then! Two can play this game. The best way to deal with shameless people was to be even more shameless yourself! "What? You used to live alone? You surely didn't forget that you got "married" yesterday right? Yet you came out from your room without wearing a shirt, isn't it because you want me to see?" She asked him. It was Ryder's turn to be speechless. "I..." Scarlett wasn't planning on giving him time to retort. "You know, I thought that you had some special tricks up your sleeves but to think that you would do something like this..tsk....tsk .. did you get so many girlfriends acting like this? Are women these days so dumb? You came out specifically for me to see. You obviously wanted to put on a show? What are you complaining for now?" She asked him. Ryder "....."! Actually, Scarlett was right. He has done this on purpose. He wanted to show to Scarlett. He had thought about the bet when he woke up this morning. He had to try everything to make her fall for him. It was better since they lived together. Didn't all girls fall for things like this? So even though he was already awake, he stayed behind his door waiting for Scarlett to come out before he came out, immediately he heard her door opening, he came out. It was really embarrassing that he was found out like this. "Were you waiting for me to come out before you came out? Tell me how long did you wait for? Your legs must hurt right? Why don't you go back to sleep!" She asked Ryder. Ryder "....!" How is this annoying woman able to tell? Because he was standing by the door for so long, his led was already hurting. How can she tell such details! What is going on here? "You..!" Ryder really could not think of a sentence. "I'd advice you not to play such tricks from now on. You are only going to make yourself suffer" Scarlett said. Ryder really wanted to cry. He had never felt so wronged in his life! What the hell is the meaning of this? Just then, the door bell rang. Both Scarlett and Ryder had the same thoughts in thier mind. Who the hell could it be?! The both of them looked at each other for a few seconds before Scarlett said, "Aren't you going to put on a shirt? You want to give out guests a free show too?" She sneered at him. Ryder instantly disappeared back into his room. He would never be able to win a verbal arguement against this woman. That was for sure. He had to give it up. Scarlett went down to take a look at the guests. ****** When Ryder went down after he put on a shirt, he was greeted by the sight of his smiling father and mother in law looking at him. Wait, how come these two people are here together? Because he had to marry Scarlett, he had actually met Scarlett's mother a lot of times. He really did not understand how such a kind and wonderful middle aged woman had a daughter like Scarlett He looked over at Scarlett who had a scowling look on her face. It seemed that they had said something to ãnnoy her. For some reason, seeing Scarlett in a bad mood like this made him happy. It was petty but he had always been a petty person to being with! "Mother....dad...what are you doing here.... together?" He asked as soon as be sat down. Vanessa noted that her son in law was calling her mother. She smiled in satisfaction. It seemed that even though Scarlett had a terrible personality, she had finally found a good person to marry. As long as Ryder treats Scarlett really well from now on, she did not have anything to complain about. She just wanted her daughter to live well from now on. "Oh...we met outside. Coincidentally we came here to talk about the same thing" Vanessa explained. Scarlett sneered when she heard that. Ryder looked over at Scarlett. Why did she have the feeling that this concidence isn't anything good at all? "What ...what is it?" He asked with some difficulty. Peter spoke up. "It's this. You and Scarlett are already married. Why don't you go on a honeymoon?" Ryder "....!!!" He knew it! He just knew it! His father coming here this early in the morning, it definitely could not anything good at all! It was already bad enough that he had to marry Scarlett, he also had to go on a honeymoon with her? No way that was going to happen? He wanted to yell no but then he saw Vanessa looking at him expectantly and he knew that he could not just blurt that out.
