Chapter 103
At the floor-to-ceiling window of a room on the second floor, Jonah watched the scene unfolding below. There was no emotion on his face, as if he were watching a play that didn't concern him.
He rubbed his forehead, then turned and returned to his room to rest. Tara's gentle hands from that day flashed through his mind.
She really had eased his fatigue.
On the first floor, Tara hung the umbrella on the stand by the door, ready to return to her room to rest.
As she passed the corner by the floor-to-ceiling window, Tara's eyes caught something out of the corner of her vision. She stopped in her tracks.
Lance stood by the window, tall and poised in a sharp suit. His handsome face was striking under the light, and he stared intently at her.
He didn't say a word, but she could tell he was waiting for her to walk over to him. Maybe he would let her go if she made the first move to approach him.
