Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?Wrong. One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.Enter him.Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes. It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life. And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with. And now, he’s not letting me go.

I'm taking a breather on a cruise ship in international waters when I stumble upon a scene that stops me cold. I see my younger sister surrounded at a poker table.Across from her stand her two so-called childhood friends, flanking a fragile-looking woman with a smug smile. Their voices drip with mockery when they speak."What's wrong, Ms. Jefferson? Can't keep up now? You were so bold just a minute ago, asking Reena for 500 thousand dollars over a headscarf.""You can fold," the other adds. "But the Jefferson family's 15% stake? That gets transferred to Reena first thing tomorrow."My sister's knuckles turn white, and her eyes brim with tears.Someone nearby laughs and loosens his tie. "Out of money, young lady? How about this—remove one piece of clothing, and I'll give you 500 chips."Whistles and jeers erupt around the table."Strip it all off, and my entire stack is yours."I remain still in the shadows of the upper deck, slowly twisting the signet ring on my finger. It's been a few years since I've shown my face—looks like this pack of filth has forgotten something.Touch anyone from the Stanford family, and you pay with your life.

In order to force her to divorce, Chonen White, who lost her memory, was given to a strange man by her husband.Feeling deeply disappointed, she signed the divorce agreement, but unexpectedly, a car accident jogged her memory of her identity as a family favorite.Top tycoon parents, "If you dare to bully my daughter, you are a dead person!"Ten brothers, "It's cold, put more soil on those who bully Chonen!"A certain hidden boss, They have finished their work, what should I do?"Chonen White raised his chin domineeringly, and smiled seductively: "You are in charge of...loving me!"

Abigail Parker has only one impression of the Parker family—struggling older brothers, a blind mother, a father who loves to cry, and a broken home. It's yours."She looks up at the night sky, and her second brother remarks, "See that star? I named it after you."She attends a concert, and when the singer removes their disguise, her third brother's face is revealed. When she looks toward her fourth brother, he shyly says, "I have a mine I'd like to give you..."Good God! Her entire family consists of hidden powerhouses. She's the only one who's actually struggling.Just as she's about to flee this madness, the man people say is her fiancé blocks her path. "Come home with me, sweetheart. Let me take care of you."

I, Nadine Cross, transplant the nerves from my own hands to my boyfriend's "sister", who loses the use of both her hands in an accident.
With that, Irene Sawyer's painting skills improve tremendously.
However, I lose function in both hands. I can't even lift a glass of water.
My boyfriend, Thomas Graham, tearfully promises that he will forever be grateful to me and will take care of me for the rest of my life.
Because I love him, I silently endure the agony of rehabilitation treatments.
But one day, I accidentally discover that his so-called sister, Irene, is actually his lover.
I confront him, but they tie me up.
"Since your hand nerves work so well, your optic nerves should be good too. Irene's eyesight hasn't been great lately. If you're going to help, then you should help her all the way. Give her your eyes, Nadine," Thomas demands.
I fall into despair as I watch them approach me with surgical knives.
Thomas says, "Don't hate me. You've already lost function in both hands. Your eyes won't do you much good when you're in this state. I'm just making the rational choice."
Boundless darkness descends.
When I open my eyes again, I am back at the time right before the nerve transplant surgery.
This time, I get a dog's nerves instead.
I dive into the ocean to save Preston Gale. After doing CPR on him in front of everyone, the wedding that is meant for my cousin, Roxanne Shaw, somehow falls to me instead.
On our wedding night, Preston prefers to drown himself in alcohol rather than spend the night with me.
I'm foolish enough to think that if I keep at it, he'll come around eventually.
Three years later, Roxanne returns, holding a child who looks so much like Preston that it stops my heart for a second.
Only then do I finally understand that while I spent that wedding night alone, he was with her.
"Rox, I know these years have been hard on you. I'll make it right. I'll make sure Lexi gives your place as Mrs. Gale back to you," Preston says.
I tell him I'm pregnant, too, hoping it might change something. However, it doesn't.
He coldly tells me to abort it, before forcing me onto the operating table, ending two lives at once.
When I open my eyes again, I'm back on the day Preston fell into the sea.
Soaked through, he's lying there, and I scream Roxanne's name into the crowd, my voice cracking with desperation.

"Our system shows that Charlie Listford is the biological father of these fraternal twins. Their biological mother is Zara Lane."Yasmine still didn't look convinced, so the doctor showed her the paternity test, which indicated a 100% probability that Charlie was the twins' father. The stark black ink against the white paper contrasted sharply, making her eyes water."Zara Lane…" she murmured quietly.Zara had been a low-income student whom the Listford family had funded. She was also a teacher at the orphanage from which Yasmine had adopted the twins.A few years ago, Charlie had grown frustrated at Zara's desperate advances and cut off all of her funding. Now, however, Yasmine had discovered that her adopted twins were actually Charlie and Zara's biological children.
