Time passed. Soon, the rainy season was gone, replaced by sunny skies.
However, the Selwyns could not appreciate the good weather as gloom seemed to haunt their every step. It loomed over them, forcing them to sink deeper and deeper into the abyss of their own making.
Paul and Barbara did not hire new staff to serve them. Instead, they were forced to fend for themselves.
They fumbled through their chores, their hands more used to a life of luxury than one of hardship. Yet, none of them dared to make a single peep of protest. Instead, they became even more cautious, worried that one wrong move from them might set Arthur off.
Selwyn Corporation was already falling into Arthur's control. This wouldn't have been a bad thing, but they'd cast out the one person who could have ensured that the Holland-Selwyn alliance stayed intact.
After the hospital incident, they received word from Nousland saying that Maya never showed up.
