They shoved Samantha Quin into the stairwell right next to the elevator.
The second they stepped in, the man and woman dropped all pretenses and looked downright vicious. Clearly, they’d been watching Samantha closely, waiting for her to eat that drugged food. As soon as she did, they moved fast—one grabbed her left arm, the other her right, practically lifting her off the ground as they dragged her down the stairs.
“You guys… let me go!” Samantha tried to shout, but her voice was hoarse and barely audible.
Whoever planned this had given her both a sedative and something to mess up her voice. Ruthless wasn’t even the word—there was no way she could scream for help.
From the first floor, they dragged her all the way down to level B3 and tossed her onto a filthy mattress in a corner of the empty basement.
“This’ll do. No one’s coming down here,” the man said.
“B3? Seriously, not even cars reach this level. Unless someone’s ghost-hunting, we’re good,” the woman added smugly.
