Chapter 23: Officials' Meeting

Lucy had devised many plans to achieve her goal, and now that she was back in San Francisco, she felt more confident. She believed she could handle things well. So, Lucy lay down and slept through the night. Meanwhile. San Francisco Mayor Dale suddenly woke up to the realization that a gun was pressed against his head! He woke up from his dream to find himself tightly bound with ropes! "Hello, Dale. Now quickly notify all San Francisco officials to come here for a meeting." Dale was utterly shocked! "Who are you? Why are you talking to me? What do you want?!" "Don't ask questions. Just call the people over. Otherwise... do you want to die young?" Terrified, Dale quickly shook his head and used Samael's phone to call the officials. Even though it was the middle of the night, no one dared to question Dale's order for a meeting. All the officials in San Francisco got up in the middle of the night to attend the meeting. Once everyone arrived at Dale's house, the room was almost full, with Samael standing next to Dale, a gun pressed against his back. "Mayor, why did you call us here?" Everyone was curious and confused. "Sit down first." Dale, frightened and sweating, told them. Once everyone was there, the members of the Reaper organization closed the doors from outside. "Who closed the door?!" Everyone turned around, but no one answered. Dale coughed. "I didn't call you here. He did." Dale stepped back, revealing Samael to everyone. The officials were taken aback. "Him? Who is he? Why would you call us to a meeting with someone we don't know?" "He has nothing to do with us!" "Who says I have nothing to do with you?" Samael smiled. "After all, your lives are now in my hands." Everyone was shocked! "W-What do you mean?" "Who are you? Why are you here? How did you get into the mayor's house?!" Everyone stared at him, wide-eyed. No one could believe what the man was saying. Samael calmly smiled. "I am Samael. Do you know where I come from?" As soon as he finished speaking, the room fell silent. The officials' faces turned pale with fear! "Who are you? Why are you in Mayor Dale's house?!" "Are you here to cause trouble?!" "Mayor Dale, why didn't you tell us? We could have helped you!" Samael chuckled. "Well... I'll explain everything once I tell you what you need to do. For now, listen to me. Otherwise, the gun in my hand won't be merciful." Hearing this, everyone grew more nervous. Dale quickly said. "Y-You, don't do anything rash. You should leave now. If you really shoot, we will call the police!" Samael shook his head. "If I dared to come here, do you think I'd be afraid of the police? Dale, are you joking? I might need to reconsider letting you remain as mayor!" When Samael said this, everyone felt a chill in their hearts! Especially Dale! As the mayor, he was usually feared by others. But who was this man? Why wasn't he afraid of Dale at all? In fact, he treated Dale like an ordinary person! Did he have more power than the mayor? "What do you mean by that? Did Mayor Dale do something wrong?" They began to ask questions. Dale, panicking, quickly shook his head. "No, no, I didn't do anything wrong, absolutely not!" Samael shook his head and sighed. "It's not about wrongdoing. Maybe the only mistake Dale made was calling you here too slowly?" Dale's eyes widened, cursing inwardly. Who the hell is this guy?! Dale was indignant, but he had no choice. The gun was still pressed against his back! A man named Tep stepped forward. "Mayor, you've been in office for so many years. Don't tell me you're afraid of this guy!" "He looks like an ordinary thug. Why are you afraid of him?" "He's just a lunatic!" Before he could finish, everyone pointed at his head. "You... you..." Tep was stunned. "What are you doing?" "There's a red dot on your head! Someone is aiming at you!" Tep was now terrified. "Who's aiming at me? Where's the sniper?!" He looked around in fear. Wait. It's not just him. Everyone here was being targeted! "There's one on your head..." "And one on yours too!" "What is happening?!" Everyone was sweating profusely! Who was this young man?! Samael smiled and stepped forward. "I know you all have your hands dirty with corruption. If I kill you now, it would be for the good of the people." "But I don't plan to kill you just yet. I need your help with something." Samael looked at them coldly. "If you do as I say, you might survive a little longer. But if you disobey, you will die." One person thought Samael couldn't hear him and muttered. "Hmph! He's just trying to scare us!" "He's bluffing. Don't be fooled!" Samael raised an eyebrow. "Oh, someone isn't afraid? Go ahead." In an instant, a bullet pierced his head!
