Chapter 214: It's Him Again!
If all of this had been their choice, he wouldn't have had any other thoughts. But now, these events were far from what they wanted; they were being forced to act against their will.
They had no other choice but to do what they did.
However, for Sonka, there was no time to dwell on these things because just being alive was already an achievement. At least he was still breathing, so there was no need to overthink.
If they were to die, it would have been by their own decisions, and he wouldn't have had any other thoughts.
At that moment, Kajelina thought of a plan. She decided to search online for any information about Joseph and his group. To her surprise, there was nothing—absolutely no trace of them online!
This was incredible! What kind of mysterious people had no presence on the internet?
It seemed that if she wanted to find out what was going on, she only had one way to proceed. So, Kajelina prepared to return home to personally investigate their identities.
Meanwhile, at the Longrich Group building, Longrich was busy with work when he suddenly heard that someone unfamiliar had entered the company. At first, Longrich thought nothing of it, but when he heard the name of the visitor, he was stunned.
It was Joseph!
What in the world was happening?
"Not him again! Not that terrifying man! We can't keep dealing with him! It's too dangerous!"
"Exactly! This guy is the most dangerous person, bar none!"
"Not him again! We're in for a world of pain!"
His subordinates nervously added, "Boss, these people seem hostile. They don’t look like they’re here for a friendly visit. Should we...?"
"Fight? Fight who? Do you know who I am? I’m the chairman of the Longrich Group!"
His subordinate nodded hastily. "Yes, sir, but if you go up there, you might get hurt."
Longrich snorted. "Nonsense! How could I possibly get hurt?"
He headed upstairs, determined to confront the intruder and teach him a lesson. But as soon as he reached the door, it slammed shut in his face.
"Hey, what’s going on in there?" he yelled, only to be met with silence as the door stayed firmly shut.
Longrich was momentarily stunned, and his subordinates couldn’t help but snicker. One of them even said, "Boss, it looks like you’re in trouble now. This guy is no ordinary opponent!"
Longrich’s expression darkened as he realized the gravity of the situation. "What did you notice? Who are these people?"
"We’re not sure, sir. They look young, probably just a bunch of kids."
Longrich huffed. "Then why aren’t you breaking down the door?"
The subordinates began pounding on the door, but it wouldn’t budge. The door was incredibly sturdy, impossible to break down—even kicking it didn’t work!
One of the subordinates exclaimed, "It’s no use! This door is too well-built!"
Longrich, his face turning red with anger, shouted, "Idiots! Use force! Break it down, now!"
The subordinates tried harder, but even after some time, the door didn’t give way. The door’s quality was far too superior for them to destroy.
Frustrated, Longrich ordered them to bring in a crowbar to pry the door open. Finally, with a loud crash, the door fell inward, and Longrich stormed inside, only to find a stranger leisurely sitting in his chair, going through some documents.
The young man was dressed in black, with a gold chain around his neck and a menacing scar across his face, giving him a fierce and threatening appearance. He looked up at Longrich with a mocking smile.
"Who are you?" Longrich demanded.
Joseph smirked. "Does it matter?"
Longrich’s anger flared. "I’m the chairman of the Longrich Group! How dare you act so recklessly in my territory!"
The young man suddenly stood up, towering over Longrich, who was taken aback by his imposing stature. The man stepped closer, grabbed Longrich’s arm, and with a loud crack, snapped it.
Longrich collapsed in agony, fainting from the pain.
The man was Abaddon.
Abaddon hadn’t had enough of a fight yet, and now, seeing Longrich, she was eager to put her thoughts into action.
"I’ve been wanting to teach you a lesson. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been in such a mess!"
Longrich tried to flee, but in the next moment, he was dragged back and thrown in front of Joseph.
Joseph grabbed Longrich by the collar and sneered, "You called me here, so you should apologize first."
Longrich was bewildered. "What? I… you…"
Joseph slammed Longrich’s head against the desk, knocking him unconscious.
When Longrich finally came to, Joseph was standing right in front of him, looking down with cold eyes.
"Awake?" Joseph asked calmly.
Longrich was terrified. "What do you want? We didn’t close our deal, but there’s no need for this! What are you doing?"
Joseph sneered. "You think you have the right to talk about deals and goodwill? Weren’t you the one who made the first move?"
Longrich’s face paled. "What? No, I’m not that kind of person. You have to believe me!"
Joseph scoffed. "Believe you? I couldn’t care less about your lies. The only reason I allowed you to operate here was because this is the best place in the region. But you’ve clearly overstayed your welcome."
Longrich panicked. "Joseph, you can’t do this, I…"
*Smack!*
Joseph backhanded Longrich, drawing blood.
"Enough with the excuses. I’m going to show you exactly who you’ve crossed."
With that, Joseph kicked Longrich in the stomach, sending him sprawling on the ground.
Longrich clutched his stomach, screaming in pain. But more than the pain, he was utterly confused.
"I swear, I’m not the villain here! You must be mistaken! This has nothing to do with me!"
Hearing his desperate pleas, Joseph simply smiled coldly.
