Chapter 209: Taking Advantage of the Chaos
The three of them launched attacks against the enemy in different ways, each showcasing their extraordinary abilities. Abaddon wielded his blade with deadly precision, Beelzebub used her agility and strength, and Joseph unleashed a storm of bullets from his machine gun. Together, they were an unstoppable force.
The remaining enemies didn’t stand a chance. Abaddon’s sword sliced through bodies with ease, while Beelzebub's powerful strikes and swift movements allowed her to take down foes quickly. As for Joseph, his machine gun mowed down groups of enemies with terrifying efficiency.
In a matter of moments, more than half of the enemy forces were wiped out. The survivors, terrified and disoriented, scattered in all directions, trying to escape. But Abaddon, driven by the need for revenge, wouldn’t let them get away. These were the same people who had ambushed and captured him—he couldn’t let their actions go unpunished.
As they pursued the fleeing enemies, the sound of screams filled the air. Cries for mercy fell on deaf ears as Abaddon, Beelzebub, and Joseph showed no hesitation in cutting down those who had wronged them.
After eliminating the immediate threat, Beelzebub, still carrying a wounded Azazel, looked at his injuries and realized how badly he was hurt. "We can't keep fighting like this," he said, concern evident in his voice.
Joseph, assessing the situation, pointed ahead. "Did you notice anything unusual?"
The others, momentarily confused, asked what he meant. Joseph explained, "These people’s skills aren’t something they learned overnight. They’ll definitely regroup and come after us. What we need to do is blend in with them."
Realization dawned on the group. "We should disguise ourselves in their uniforms and take advantage of the chaos," someone suggested.
"Exactly," Joseph confirmed.
They quickly swapped their clothes with those of the fallen enemies and searched their bodies for anything useful. Sure enough, they found plenty of valuables. "These guys were loaded," Joseph remarked, holding up a diamond.
The others nodded in agreement—this plan was turning out better than expected.
As they moved forward, they were stopped by another group of enemies. "Have you seen the targets?" they asked.
Joseph nodded, pointing in a direction. "They went that way."
The group accepted this and moved on, leaving Joseph and his team to continue searching for a way out. However, as they walked further, something felt off. "Where are we? This place doesn’t look familiar at all," one of them noted.
"It’s not like the desert we were in before. There are too many green areas here," another added.
"Did we take a wrong turn?"
Confused, they decided to retrace their steps. "If we go back, they’ll definitely kill us," one of them said.
"But we can't stay here either. We're too injured to fight much longer," another replied.
Realizing that staying with the group was their best bet for survival, Beelzebub suggested, "Let’s stick with them for now. We don’t have many options."
"Why?" someone questioned.
"I don't know, but it’s better than waiting here to die," Beelzebub replied.
Just then, more enemies approached. "Why aren’t you out looking for them? What are you doing here?" they demanded.
Without hesitation, Joseph attacked. "We’re here to kill you!"
In an instant, the enemy’s heads were severed, their bodies crumpling to the ground. Seeing this, the others quickly followed suit, using their disguises to blend in while they continued their mission.
However, as they moved forward, something strange happened. "Why does it feel like we’re getting further away?" Joseph asked, puzzled by the unfamiliar surroundings.
"Look ahead!" one of them shouted.
They all stared in shock. Before them was a far more dangerous world than they had anticipated. The hidden enemies, who had been lying in wait, burst into laughter. "You fools! You thought you could kill us? Now you’ll see what real death looks like!"
Panic set in as they realized they had walked into a trap. But Joseph, undeterred, fought his way through, creating a path of blood. "Keep moving! I’ll cover you!" he shouted.
The others were reluctant to leave him behind. "Sir, how can you handle all these enemies alone?"
"I know, but I’m stronger than they are. They’re no match for me!" Joseph replied as he fought. "Besides, you’re all injured. It’s only right that I fight."
At that moment, a gun-wielding enemy engaged Joseph in combat. Seeing this, Beelzebub knew he had to act fast. If they didn’t intervene, they would all die here.
Determined to help, Beelzebub charged at the enemy with all his might. Joseph, realizing he wasn’t alone, felt a surge of strength as they fought side by side. Meanwhile, Beelzebub's reinforcements joined the fray, attacking with renewed vigor.
"You thought I was alone? You’re fools!" Joseph taunted as more of their allies arrived.
Pointing towards the exit, Joseph ordered, "Beelzebub, get out of here! You know my abilities. You’ll only slow me down if you stay."
Reluctantly, Beelzebub and the others obeyed, making their way out. "Be careful, Joseph!" Beelzebub called back as they fled.
