Chapter 178: Return to the Battlefield
"Yes, that's the person," Joseph said, confirming the sketch with a heavy sigh.
He immediately sent a message to Beelzebub and the others.
"The World Destroyer Organization is planning to make a move against you. Be careful. I’ll return soon."
The members of the World Destroyer Organization were known for wearing clothing marked with a bright red cross, which was their signature. Joseph recognized them because of this distinctive feature.
However, what Joseph hadn't anticipated was that these people had somehow formed a connection with Johnson and Jenna.
When had this happened? Could it have been during the time Johnson and Jenna were released? As these thoughts crossed his mind, Joseph's expression grew more serious. If this were true, it meant that the World Destroyer Organization posed a greater threat than he initially imagined.
The World Destroyer Organization was a highly dangerous group. Even Joseph and his team couldn’t easily predict their intentions. They only knew that whatever the World Destroyer Organization did, it was never for good.
If they had set their sights on Joseph, this could spell serious trouble.
But logically speaking, the World Destroyer Organization and the Hell Organization had no direct conflicts. So, what was their reason for targeting Joseph?
As Joseph pondered this, Dr. Mundo knocked on the door.
Joseph opened the door and invited him in.
"May I speak with you privately, Mr. Joseph?"
After Sophie and Lucy left, Dr. Mundo told Joseph about the poison affecting Lucy's parents.
"The toxins in their bodies are specifically from the World Destroyer Organization."
Joseph narrowed his eyes.
"It seems the World Destroyer Organization intends to become our enemy."
Dr. Mundo responded, "No, it might not be the World Destroyer Organization targeting you directly. It’s possible that someone else is using them to provoke you."
Joseph fell into deep thought after hearing this.
"You mean the World Destroyer Organization is just being used to create a rift?"
"It's very possible," Dr. Mundo continued. "This kind of tactic doesn’t seem like something that would typically occur within your ranks."
Joseph nodded thoughtfully.
"What you say makes sense. I think it’s best to keep this information to ourselves for now."
Joseph agreed and asked, "I have one more question."
Dr. Mundo responded, "Please, Mr. Joseph, go ahead."
"I want to know, is there an antidote to the poisons these people use?"
Dr. Mundo thought for a moment, then nodded. "Of course."
Joseph believed the World Destroyer Organization wouldn’t stop at just this one attack.
"Stay here for now. After I’ve trained and recovered, I’ll return to the battlefield. But I want you to stay and keep an eye on things here, okay?"
"And don’t forget about my daughter Tangna. You still need to help with her heart condition and malnutrition. Please take care of that."
Dr. Mundo nodded lightly. "Understood."
"Is there anything else?"
Joseph then mentioned his grandfather.
"Once I’ve dealt with things here, I’ll take you to New York to help my grandfather with his illness. I’ll be counting on you in the meantime."
Dr. Mundo smiled gently. "You don’t have to say that. I believe everything you say is right. So, there’s no trouble at all in helping you."
After about half a month passed, Joseph prepared to return to the battlefield with a few of his men.
Before heading abroad, he traveled to the northwest, where he found an elderly man.
When the old man saw Joseph’s eyes, his expression changed instantly.
"What are you doing here?" the old man asked.
Joseph handed him a piece of paper, which bore a signature. After seeing the signature, the old man sighed.
"So, you’ve come after all. But remember, I can only help you this one time."
Joseph smiled slightly. "Once is all we need."
Kainan, standing beside him, frowned.
"Mr. Joseph, who are we supposed to be bringing with us?"
He assumed they were picking up the old man’s grandson or someone else.
But Joseph pointed at the old man. "He’s the one."
Despite his age, this old man was the mighty Chain Demon Lord, Sovenka, the most formidable figure in the northwest.
In addition to him, Joseph also went north to enlist Father Sener, south to recruit Gunslinger Bianca, and east to bring in Cowboy Howard.
Kainan didn’t understand why they were gathering so many elderly people.
They rented a helicopter and flew directly toward Remiel’s location.
"We’re going straight in?" Kainan was still unsure about these old men.
Little did he know that these people were incredibly powerful—some of the strongest beings in the world, even surpassing Joseph.
They were true powerhouses, and their identities were even more terrifying than Joseph's.
As they neared Remiel’s location, everyone started preparing.
Soon, they all donned their Hell Organization’s Reaper masks, and Joseph put on his golden mask.
They charged directly toward Remiel's stronghold, with the four elders covering their rear. The tasks ahead were left to Joseph and Kainan.
As Joseph and Kainan moved swiftly through the crowd, the four elders were astonished.
"I didn’t expect Joseph to be this skilled!"
"It’s truly terrifying."
As they discussed, they suddenly realized that Joseph and Kainan were dodging bullets.
"My God!"
The four were stunned.
At first, they had been somewhat nervous themselves. But as they progressed, they noticed several snipers but managed to avoid being hit. They felt there was nothing to worry about.
But when they saw Joseph and Kainan’s actions, they realized how incredible these two really were.
They weren’t just dodging in the shadows—they were out in the open, yet still avoiding every shot!
It was something beyond comprehension.
"Even though their skills don’t quite match ours yet, they’ll soon surpass us!"
"Joseph is truly remarkable!"
The four elders were filled with admiration for Joseph.
However, as they watched, it seemed that Joseph and Kainan were moving like shadows, making it impossible to track their movements.
