Chapter 14: A Slap in the Face

"What do you want in exchange for releasing my son?!" Listening to Joseph, Jackson felt an inexplicable fear. However, Johnson remained indifferent. "Do you know how powerful I am? From my perspective, I can turn this place into flat land in an instant if I wish!" He believed Joseph and his group's abilities were no match for his own. He couldn't understand why Joseph and his men were so confident. Joseph smiled slightly. "If any of you shoot, believe me, the first to die won't be me, but Jackson's son, Tom. If you really don't want your son to live or wish to kill him with your own hands, go ahead." After saying this, Joseph added. "By the way, I mean, the issue isn't who dies, because the only one who might die is your son. We certainly won't." Jackson grew anxious. "Tell me, what will it take to release my son?" Joseph finally stood up. He looked at Jackson and his men calmly. "I kept your son alive until now because I wanted to ask you a question." "Are you really willing to go to war with me over this waste of a son? Going to war with me also means violating the laws of Los Angeles~" "Your son bullied my daughter, so he can't be spared, but you still have a chance." Johnson pointed at them. "Do you few really think you can negotiate with me? War with us? Do you see how many of us there are?" "Each of us could spit and drown you!" Azazel laughed as if she heard the funniest thing in the world. "Hahaha! Samael, did you hear that? He said he could kill us, haha!" Clearly, Joseph's side had only five or six visible people. Johnson couldn't understand why they weren't afraid. And why they openly provoked him?! He grew furious. He raised his gun at them. "Alright, aren't you all tough? Go on, continue." They didn't seem to hide their strength. Johnson glanced at them. Joseph just laughed. "What are you laughing at?!" Joseph looked at him. "I'm laughing because do you think you're surrounding us, or we're surrounding you?" For Joseph, he didn't even consider this group a threat. These city bullies were nothing compared to his men, who lived in the harshest conditions. In the Hell organization, not a single person was useless. Everyone survived through sheer willpower. The weak had long died; they were demons reborn from hell. Joseph knew that Johnson's men were just numerous. If he wanted to kill them, he could do so easily. However, he was giving them a chance. This was Los Angeles, not abroad. Killing many people without reason was problematic. Moreover, killing innocent people wasn't Joseph's creed. "Either the Johnson family members come out to face death, or I'll handle it myself. From my point of view, I don't want innocent people to die." Joseph pointed to Johnson's subordinates. Johnson sneered. "You're still pretending? Innocent people? Tom is innocent too! You have a hostage and pretend to be a hero!" Hostage? Oh, Tom. Joseph almost forgot about him. He asked Samael to bring Tom out. Standing on a chair, he smiled at them, "Since we can't agree, I'll act." He grabbed the chair's backrest. "No, this position is uncomfortable." He got off the chair and exerted slight pressure. Instantly, he shattered the chair, turning it to debris in a second. Johnson was stunned. Joseph calmly threw a piece of the chair at Tom's face. Tom's head was instantly bloodied! Yet Joseph didn't show any pleasure. His expression only grew more serious. "Do you know who you've angered? Tom, you're nothing but scum. How dare you touch my woman? Did you grow a wolf's heart and dog's lungs?" "Seeing your father, I've decided to help discipline you." "Bang!" Another blow! He used the wooden stick to beat Tom's head until it was a bloody mess! Johnson was momentarily stunned. "You, you, you actually!" Joseph's strike was powerful. Several teeth, bloodied, rolled to Johnson's feet. Seeing the blood-stained teeth, Johnson was furious. "You, do you know you're courting death?!" In his view, Joseph and his men were at a disadvantage. But now, these people weren't afraid at all?! Azazel looked at Johnson. "So, Mr. Johnson, our boss is patiently giving you choices. If you don't decide, our boss doesn't mind taking care of all of you!" Johnson suddenly understood their odd behavior. They were provoking him on purpose. He said coldly, "Fine, you've succeeded in angering me. You'll pay an unimaginable price!" He waved to his men. "Prepare to act!" But Jackson grabbed his hand. "No! Tom is still in their hands!" He wanted to rush and kill Joseph, but Tom couldn't die! Thinking this, Jackson apologized to Joseph and his men. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault. If Tom angered you, I apologize! Please don't kill my son!" "You know, if you kill my son, you won't leave here alive!"
