Chapter 13: The Father Pays for the Son's Debt
"I'm sorry, it's all my fault..."
Unlike the disheveled Susan, Jackson, standing at the entrance of the slum, was overjoyed to see Johnson arriving in a grand procession.
"Finally! Brother! Now we can get Tom's dignity back!"
Seeing this imposing group, Jackson's face lit up with a smile.
"Joseph, you thought you were so great, didn't you? Now you'll see how powerful I am!"
"Just wait until I drag you out. Let's see if you can still be so arrogant then!"
"All this for a woman, huh? Haha, just wait. When I catch you, I'll make sure to torment your precious Lucy!"
Johnson and his gang had brought everyone out this time.
The dark convoy surrounded the address Joseph had sent them.
Johnson grabbed a megaphone from the car.
"If you hand Tom over now, I'll let you live. But if you insist on this, you'll all die!"
Tom was inside a dog cage at that moment.
Seeing his uncle and father outside, he cried out anxiously.
"Father! Save me! Uncle! Save me!"
Hearing Tom's voice, Jackson and the others quickly looked towards the cage.
Jackson saw his son in a terrible state.
He shouted.
"Son! Hold on! Dad will get you out soon! Dad..."
However, at that moment, they noticed another figure.
"Joseph! He's actually here!"
Joseph was sitting in front of the dog cage.
If his eyes weren't open, Jackson would have thought he was asleep!
But...
Even with Jackson and his crew shouting, Joseph didn't respond?
He didn't even glance at them?
Jackson and his men had never been ignored like this before! They exchanged furious glances.
Jackson drew his gun and aimed it at Joseph.
"You're Joseph?!"
Joseph ignored him. On closer look, he seemed to be listening to music.
He didn't care about this, but the others did.
"Who allowed you to speak to Mr. Joseph like that?"
Azazel's eyes were cold.
Jackson looked at her, stunned.
"A woman? Haha, you have a woman acting as your guard dog? How amusing!"
Hearing Jackson's mockery, Azazel drew her gun and aimed at Tom's face, shooting his nose!
"If Mr. Joseph didn't forbid me from killing him, do you think I would still let this Tom live?"
The gunshot stunned everyone!
Especially Jackson, who couldn't believe what he saw!
For a moment, he forgot to shoot back!
He couldn't believe this woman actually shot his son!
And broke his nose with one shot?!
At that moment, Jackson snapped back to reality.
"No..."
He aimed his gun at Azazel.
But just as he was about to shoot, Azazel aimed at Tom's crotch.
"What, still trying to threaten me?"
Jackson only had Tom as his son!
He immediately raised his gun.
"Wait, wait, let's talk this out."
He thought that having more people would scare Joseph and his crew.
But now it seemed Joseph's followers were like mad dogs.
They didn't care about consequences!
They weren't afraid to die, but he was afraid for his son!
Thinking of this, Jackson tried to negotiate.
"Who are you people, anyway? We have no past grievances or recent feuds..."
He hoped to talk Joseph out of the conflict.
After all, fighting wouldn't bring any good results.
Seeing Joseph unfazed by their numbers, Jackson knew he must be someone significant.
If Joseph joined them, they might control all of Los Angeles!
So Johnson spoke up.
"Joseph, right? Can we talk?"
Unexpectedly, Joseph calmly took off his earphones and said,
"Talk about what? How about when this place becomes ours."
"What?!"
Jackson didn't expect things to turn out this way.
He wanted to discuss business with Joseph.
But it seemed Joseph was more formidable than Johnson.
Because Johnson wasn't even worthy of speaking to him.
But for Johnson, the local tyrant, this was unbearable.
Listening to their conversation, Jackson was at a loss.
Azazel's cold gaze made them feel intense killing intent.
"Big words! Do you know who I am?!"
Johnson demanded. Joseph glanced at him indifferently.
"Oh? I don't know who you are, but I know your name."
"Johnson Smith."
Samael appeared beside them unnoticed.
If he hadn't spoken, Johnson wouldn't have noticed his presence!
"Where did this guy come from? How can he hide his presence so well?!"
"Haha, you think you can do business with Mr. Joseph and even collaborate? Dream on!"
"HAHAHAHA..."
Abaddon, Belial, and others came out laughing.
Hearing their mockery, Johnson's face turned black.
"You dare talk to me like that?!"
He pointed his gun at Azazel.
But before he could speak, Joseph calmly said,
"Did you tell your men they'd die when you brought them here?"
Everyone was stunned.
Why ask that?
Did he really...
"What are you saying!"
Joseph continued.
"If you dared to come, it means you're ready to die, right? This was just your son's doing, but now... we must settle this!"
