Chapter 109: Human Traffickers
When Joseph heard the news, he immediately rushed out of the room.
"What happened?"
"Don't panic, tell me quickly!"
Earlier, they had sent Lucy out, and she hadn’t even reacted when she saw a person get out of a car.
"Oh, I'm sorry, dear. I shouldn't have argued with you. Can we make up now?" The stranger called her "dear," and Lucy instantly realized something was wrong.
She directly told him to get lost.
But the man’s grip on Lucy tightened.
"Don't go, dear. I know I was wrong."
"Come back home with me!"
Several women emerged from behind the man.
"Yes, sister-in-law, come home with my brother."
"Sister-in-law, come back!"
Everyone around was just watching; no one came to help.
Lucy was frantic.
"Please, come here! I’m so upset right now!"
"Can’t anyone help me?"
"I don't know this man!"
"He's a bad guy!"
But the man was very persuasive.
"Dear, you’re my wife!"
"Don't say such things!"
"I know I was wrong, but you shouldn't have left with our child."
Lucy realized they were after her daughter.
These are traffickers!
Lucy shouted urgently.
"Help! They’re human traffickers!"
But it was too late; the women had already put Tangna in the car and were driving away.
Lucy ran after them.
"Give me back my daughter!"
The man pushed Lucy away, and she looked at him desperately.
"My daughter, my daughter!"
Seeing more and more onlookers, the man waved dismissively.
"Fine, we got the daughter. If you don't want to come back with us, then don't!"
"Whatever, don't think we love you so much!"
He ignored Lucy, got in the car, and prepared to drive away.
They had two cars; Tangna and the women were in the other car.
Lucy realized something was wrong and quickly turned to find Joseph.
When Joseph heard the story, he was immediately alarmed.
He quickly ran out with Lucy, calling the police as he ran.
However, the cars quickly disappeared down the street.
"Damn, they got away!"
"I can't believe they had the nerve!"
"To take my daughter!"
When the police arrived, Joseph described what had happened.
The police immediately started investigating and retrieved surveillance footage from the area.
After some tracking, the police found the traffickers’ hideout.
But the traffickers were no longer there.
Or rather, they had already escaped.
Joseph heard the sound of a car engine nearby.
He rushed forward, and the man pretending to be Lucy’s husband saw him and hit the gas.
But Joseph punched the man’s head, smashing it.
"You pretend to be my wife’s husband? Ha, get lost!"
"Why do you think you’re so tough?"
"Get lost!"
Next, Joseph saw the other car.
He rushed over before the door could fully close.
Kicking the door open, he jumped in, knocking the door off its hinges.
Having lived outside for so many years, Joseph was very familiar with this kind of situation.
He easily knocked everyone in the car unconscious.
Not only that, but he also successfully rescued Tangna.
The car was still moving.
Joseph sneered, kicked the driver, and knocked him out.
The car stopped.
Joseph turned and ran back to Lucy with Tangna.
Joseph was worried about Lucy’s safety.
When he reached Lucy and saw Tangna was safe, Lucy hugged Tangna tightly, crying.
Joseph saw that Lucy’s attacker had been caught.
He dragged the man into an alley.
Everyone was stunned.
"What’s happening?"
Lucy realized what was going on.
She chased after them with Tangna in her arms.
"Don’t... don’t..."
Don't kill him!
Joseph wasted no time. He easily threw the man to the ground and used a nearby water hose to wake him up. As the man regained consciousness, Joseph looked at him coldly.
"Who sent you?"
"If you don't tell me, I don't know what will happen."
The man looked at Joseph in terror, his voice trembling.
"I... I don't know. Someone hired us to kidnap children..."
Joseph’s eyes turned cold.
"Who?"
The man shook his head.
"I really don't know. The employer contacted us through a middleman."
Joseph thought for a moment, anger rising in his heart.
He decided to hand the man over to the police and start his own investigation to find the mastermind.
Back home, Tangna had calmed down under Lucy’s comfort.
Joseph was determined to protect his family and never let them be harmed again.
In the man’s phone, Joseph found a contact he recognized.
Joseph narrowed his eyes.
"Why is this person here? Never mind..."
Joseph snorted.
No matter, since this person is here, it means everything that happens in the future has nothing to do with me.
They brought this on themselves!
"Ha, now let's see how you explain this!"
Meanwhile, Lucy had taken Tangna back to the villa.
After settling Tangna, Lucy paced around the room.
She realized how many things she had at home that she hadn’t noticed before.
Her best friend Susan was also surprised.
"Wow! Your home is so beautiful!"
"No wonder, Lucy, your man is really impressive!"
Lucy coughed.
"What do you mean! Joseph and I aren't together yet."
"Why do you say that?"
Seeing Lucy blush, Susan found it even more amusing.
"Come on, you two already have a child. How can you still act like an old married couple?"
Lucy blushed even more and scolded.
"Stop talking nonsense. We’re just..."
