When Jason came home that night, Tristan was already parked on the couch in the living room, his long legs casually crossed.
"Still up?"
Tristan let out a soft grunt. "Waiting for you."
"You wanna talk?" Jason gave a faint laugh. "Give me a sec," he said, heading into the kitchen.
When he came back, he dropped a six-pack of beer onto the coffee table. "Have a drink."
Tristan popped open a can and took a swig without waiting.
Jason did the same. The beer hissed open, foam bubbling up like melted snow. He took a sip—ice-cold.
He glanced at Tristan. "Don't tell me you stayed up just to see me? What's on your mind?"
"You into that actress girl?"
Jason's hand froze mid-air, still holding the can. Then he chuckled. "Yeah, kinda."
He knew Tristan wasn't the type to waste words, and definitely didn't poke around in other people's love lives for no reason.
The smile slipped from his face. "Why? Something wrong with her?"
Tristan shook his head. "Nothing obvious for now. But gotta be cautious. T
