Chapter 169
Hearing footsteps approach, Megan quickly jumped back into bed.
A maid in her fifties walked in with a bowl of herbal soup. "Miss, sir told me to give you this medicine."
"I'm not sick." Megan frowned. "What kind of medicine is that?"
"It's supposed to boost your immunity."
Listening to the obvious lie, Megan pressed her lips together tightly. God knows what that stuff actually was.
When the maid tried to force her jaw open, Megan kicked her hard, sending her sprawling onto the floor. "Get out!"
The bowl hit the pricey Persian rug and splashed everywhere. The maid looked terrified, then scrambled to the bathroom to grab a cloth and carefully clean up the mess.
"Miss, please just cooperate. If you keep resisting, we'll be done for." The maid started crying. "If we mess up, sir will turn us into monsters."
Megan's eyes flickered. "Just tell him I drank it. When I get out of here, I'll take you with me."
