Chapter 1160
Zarian's body tensed up as the peculiar human known as Wyatt had once again approached it. It immediately moved away and put some distance between them. "I'm a lion, and they're a mix of lion and tiger. We're not related at all!"
The next moment, Tamaro's command initiated the start of the attack. "Attack!"
The ferocious lion-tiger beasts, however, had already taken the initiative before the group could launch their attack.
As the beasts charged forth, the entire mountain trembled akin to that of an earthquake, seemingly at risk of collapse.
As the beasts closed in, the battle began in full swing.
…
Arasbor soon broke free from the beasts' encirclement, revealing his body riddled with wounds and several dead beasts still clinging onto him with their jaws.
Zarian was also similarly drenched in blood as he roared, "This is way too terrifying! Tamaro, we'll hold the beasts at bay, you hurry and enter the cave to retrieve the treasure!"
"Very well. My thanks to everyone for fighting so valiantly. Once I find the treasure, I promise to share it with all of you," replied Tamaro as she darted toward the treasure cave halfway up the mountain.
Wyatt was also engaged in combat, but he had also been keeping a close eye on Tamaro. The moment he saw her heading up the mountain, he immediately abandoned the fight and followed after her in a flash.
Both of them soon arrived at the halfway point of the mountain, with the treasure cave less than 160 feet away from them.
However, their path was blocked by a massive beast, the Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king itself.
"Ryatt, I'll leave the Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king to you. Please hold him back while I search for the treasure," said Tamaro before continuing forward.
Wyatt sneered and channeled his true energy to chase up after her. "Hah! Trying to have me do all the hard work for you while you keep everything to yourself? In your dreams!"
As they approached the cave, the Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king let out a deafening roar and charged directly at Wyatt. It seemed as if the beast king did not see Tamaro going for the cave at all.
All nine heads of the Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king howled at once, sending out a shockwave so powerful that it was distinctly visible and shaking up both heaven and the earth.
The next moment, nearby rocks exploded into pieces and the earthquake began to shake the earth.
By then, Tamaro had already arrived at the entrance of the cave. She turned around, smiled at Wyatt, and said, "I look forward to seeing your epic battle with the Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king, Ryatt!"
Wyatt's expression sank as he finally realized what was happening. "Fuck, I got tricked!"
He had no idea what kind of trick Tamaro had performed to hide her presence from the beast king, leaving Wyatt as a decoy.
Wyatt could do nothing while Tamaro entered the cave as the massive beast was already charging toward him.
The Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king focused all of its attention on Wyatt with a murderous gaze. "Prepare to die, pesky little human!"
It could speak the human tongue with absolute confidence as it strode forward, its massive claws digging in and shattering the ground with every step.
Wyatt prepared for battle as he shouted, "Listen to me, beast king. That woman's already entered the cave to steal your ancestor's corpse! Are you not going after her?"
The beast king continued to charge toward Wyatt. "You dare set foot upon my ancestor's resting place? I shall give you a swift death!"
Wyatt cursed out at the beast in frustration. "Fuck you! Are you blind or something? That whole person just ran into your treasure cave, you know? How do you have nine pairs of eyes and still manage to miss that?"
The beast king had now already arrived in front of Wyatt. It towered over Wyatt and glared down at him like an ant.
"Arrogant human! Your kind only knows how to perform petty tricks, but do you honestly think that would work on me? You're the only one daring and foolish enough to stand before me! So long as I stand guard, my ancestor rests undisturbed!"
Wyatt was utterly speechless as he realized that the stupid beast king had in fact failed to notice Tamaro entering the treasure cave. He wondered what kind of trick she had used to be able to slip right under its nose undetected.
He had been on guard against Tamaro from the very beginning, but in the end, he was still tricked.
Since Wyatt could not reason with the beast king, he had no choice but to fight.
He was not particularly afraid of the Nine-headed lion-tiger beast king itself, as per the rules known as the Heavenly Principles, no mystical creature could ever attain the power of God Tier, or they would be obliterated from existence.
Even if the beast king was the descendant of the Kirin itself, its power level would not be any much higher than that of Wyatt's. As such, he had nothing to fear.
