Sophia's face was as pale as ever as she lay on the bed. Her eyes were also hollow, as if all the strength in her body had been drained out of her.
"Rest well. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ring the bell," the nurse softly said.
Sophia weakly nodded. "Thank you. I'd like to be alone now," she murmured in a voice that was barely above a whisper.
The nurse sighed before she left and closed the door behind her.
Sophia swiftly sat up when the door clicked shut. Then, she retrieved the phone that she had hidden under her pillow and dialed a number that she had memorized by heart.
It didn't take long for the call to connect.
"It's done."
Caleb's deep laugh came echoing from the receiver. "Well done, Sophia. You didn't let me down," he said, sounding incredibly pleased.
