Emily Hayes looked around the room, scanning the crowd.
Everyone was just standing there, watching with amused faces like they were waiting for the drama to unfold. Not a single person seemed willing to back her up, and that realization hit her hard.

"Why are you staring at us, Miss Hayes? Don’t tell me you’re planning to back out of the apology? You were the one who brought up the bet first, weren’t you? What, can’t accept losing?"
"Oh please, she’s the eldest daughter of the Hayes family. Losing shouldn’t be a problem, right? Or maybe she still thinks Summer cheated and she's the real winner. Classic—white lotus vibes, anyone?"
