Chapter 127
As the final note faded and the last step of Roxanne's dance came to a graceful close, thunderous applause erupted from both floors of the restaurant.
Downstairs, Mason Grayson assumed the applause was for his performance. He nodded politely in acknowledgment, preparing to return to his table where Jensen Lindth was waiting.
Just as he reached for his seat, his phone buzzed in his pocket. Glancing at the caller ID, he gestured to Jensen that he needed to take the call. With a quick nod from Jensen, he stepped out of the restaurant to answer it.
Upstairs, Roxanne believed the applause was for her. She gave a graceful nod in return, then calmly returned to her seat and picked up her fork again.
Carolyn's eyes sparkled with admiration as she leaned in excitedly. "Rox, that was incredible! You dance so beautifully. Why did you choose to study art instead of dance?"
Roxanne chuckled. "I'm just… well-rounded, I guess."
