Chapter 4282
When Delphine went downstairs, Isabella still had not returned from her morning run. Austin was preparing breakfast for Isabella and the boys in the kitchen as usual.
“Aunt Delphine. “
Phillip was watching the TV when he saw his aunt walking down the stairs. He quickly stood up and greeted her.
“Good morning,” he added.
Delphine asked, “Why are you up so early, Phillip? Louis hasn’t even woken up.”
“I woke up early because I went to bed early last night.”
Phillip grabbed the remote control and turned off the TV. He told his aunt, “I’ll go wake Louis up, Aunt Delphine.
“Austin is back to work today. I’ll wake Louis up so we can have bunnies together. I asked Austin to make us some bunny-shaped buns.”
“Okay. Go wake him up.”
Delphine did not stop Phillip from heading upstairs.
Louis was actually a pretty fussy child because everyone kept spoiling him.
It was difficult to get him out of bed in the morning. He liked sleeping in. If he said he wanted to sleep a little longer, Delphine could not bring herself to drag him out of bed.
If Isabella and Austin were not home, Louis would definitely be late to school.
He would oversleep most of the time.
Phillip dashed up the stairs and went to Louis’s room.
He knocked on the door and shouted, “Wake up, Louis. You’re going to be late. Wake up now.”
Louis heard Phillip’s voice but did not wake up. Instead, he covered his ears with both hands and turned in bed, wanting to continue sleeping.
“Austin is working today, Louis. Isa is back from her business trip too. If you don’t wake up, Isa will spank your butt after she comes back from her morning run.”
Upon hearing that Austin was willing to cook again and that Isabella was back, Louis uncovered his ears and sat up. He got off the bed and said, “Really?”
“Why would I lie to you? Wake up now. I want to tell you about another shocking thing. Open the door.”
Louis ran and opened the door. His handsome face was filled with curiosity. “What shocking thing?”
Phillip giggled. “Aunt Delphine woke up early too. She’s downstairs now.”
Louis was speechless.
Was that shocking?
It was not as if his mother had never…
‘Wait.’
Louis belatedly realized that his mother probably never woke up early before. She had always slept in until it was late afternoon for as long as he could remember.
Austin would usually prepare breakfast for early risers like them.
Since Delphine would wake up late, she did not eat breakfast most of the time.
“Why did my mom wake up this early?” Louis asked, curious.
Phillip whispered, “Aunt Delphine has bad dark circles. She probably didn’t sleep well last night. When adults lose sleep, it means they’re worried about something. However, they’ll never talk about it to us children even if we asked.”
After giving it some thought, Louis said, “Wait for me. I’ll go change my clothes and wash up.
“I haven’t packed my books, Phillip. Help me. The books I need to bring to school are on my desk. Just stuff them inside my bag.”
