Xavier tucked his hands into his pockets.
"I've got other plans later," he said, declining Shane's offer. "What's the matter?"
Shane frowned. "Nothing. It's just that your grandma missed you. It's about time you moved back."
"Aren't you and Mom keeping her company?" Xavier deflected, looking unyielding.
"Your mom and I are nothing to your grandma compared to you and Lily. Just do as you're told and stop being so defiant." Shane scolded him.
Xavier's eyes flickered, but he still wouldn't relent.
"Tonight's a solid no."
"Fine. Then come back as soon as you're free!"
"Alright," Xavier quickly replied.
Shane turned around and went back to Tamara. He sat beside her and flashed her an indulgent smile. "Everything's settled. We'll leave tomorrow."
"Leaving without giving a heads-up?" Tamar looked worried. "Is this going to work?"
"Of course. We have Xavier anyway," Shane said, deliberately not mentioning the fact that Xavier hadn't even agreed yet.
