All of the ship's passengers were bodyguards hired by Terence, but they were disguised to look like tourists. The vessel wasn't as extravagant as a cruise ship, but a perfunctory glance suggested that they were going out to sea to have fun. Lily had already boarded the ship and was waiting for it to set sail. Maryanne was worried that she and Hayden would be discovered and chased off the ship. So they disguised themselves as part of the crew before sneaking onto the ship. They wore masks and caps, leaving only their eyes visible, and hid themselves in the ship's kitchen.
