Julian and Evelyn came down from upstairs pretty quickly.
Julian only had a small suitcase with him, filled with a few childhood keepsakes—things Evelyn had helped him pack. They were the last connections to his past before Rachel sent him back to the Everetts.
Seeing the whole Everett clan sitting in the living room, Evelyn firmly grabbed Julian's hand and said, "Let's go."
Caroline opened her mouth like she wanted to make a scene, but Bernard shut her down with a glance.
He called out to Julian as he watched him walk away. "Leaving is fine, just don't forget you're reporting to The Everett Family tomorrow."
Daniel and Joshua both glanced at Bernard. Their expressions were unreadable. It was clear neither of them had known Julian was starting at the company so soon—until Bernard brought it up just now.
