Chapter 99

"Okay.... I'm going to do it... Seriously Scarlett...does she think that she will be able to escape from me? She keeps telling me that I slept my way to the top but I don't think that she's much different from me! I'm going to make sure that she won't be able to get up this time!" Sonia said. Jenna shook her head wondering how Sonia was able to come this far when she was this stupid. Anyway, very soon it won't be her business anymore. She had better that scouting for some new artists now. Sonia had a floating smile on her face when Jenna has already given up on her. ........ Scarlett stood outside the operation room pacing up and down. Cole had already lost conciousness before they got to the hospital. They were operating on him right now. Scarlett's mind was a mess. She could only think about the fact that someone had gotten hurt because of her. It was really upsetting. Just then, "Scarlett!" Someone called her name. Scarlett turned to see who it was. It was Rose.....and Matt. Scarlett remembered that she had called Rose when she was on her way to the hospital. But why was Matt here? Scarlett looked at the interaction between the two people and she looked like she has figured out something out. She nodded her head, refusing to comment further. It was thier business. It wasn't as if the both of them were still kids. They could do whatever they want now. "Rose...." Scarlett called out. Rose went over to Scarlett and pulled her to seat. She knew that Scarlett must have been through a shock just now. She was the one supposed to be injured. But someone else was hurt because of her. She must be feeling a lot of pressure and guilt. "Scarlett....calm down....I'm sure that he's going to be fine" Rose said. "I just hope that he's fine...we weren't even that close....so I don't get why he would do something so dangerous because of me....why did he put himself in danger because of me?" Scarlett asked. Her mind was a mess. Rose comforted her. She had been hearing rumours from the production crew how Cole was always sticking to Scarlett and the truth was that Rose could not figure out his purpose too. At least, everyone knew that Scarlett was married. What was he doing? But well, Cole was someone who did things that was difficult for other people to understand. No one knew what he was going to do next so it was best to just stay out of his way. But he saved Scarlett this time.... Matt suddenly spoke up from the side. "Have you called Ryder?" Scarlett rasied her face to meet Matt's questioning gaze. She shook her head. She has not called him. Anyway her mind was a mess. She did not know what she was doing. She just managed to call Rose on her way here. She was used to doing things in her own so the idea of having someone care about her was strange to her. Still, Scarlett knew that it was something that she would have to get used to in the future. She was feeling guilty now. "I didn't call him...." Scarlett said guiltily. "I'll go call him" Matt said and walked away from the women. When Matt was gone, Rose looked squarely at Scarlett. "I don't think that this was an accident" Rose said going straight to the point. Scarlett sighed. Since Rose was here, she has calmed down a lot. She could process her thoughts now. She too did not think that it was an accident. It's too much of a concidence to be an accident. Sonia has been avioiding her for some time and now she suddenly shows up in front of her to provoke her. And it was clear that she was trying to hold her back earlier. "Yes, I can see that. Something's wrong" Scarlett said. Rose sighed. If she could think of it she was sure that Scarlett could think of it too. "Who do you think could be responsible for this?" Rose asked. Scarlett gave one name. "Sonia" Rose was shocked. "Sonia? I know that she hates you and that over the years she has done a lot of things to you but will Sonia really be brave enough to want to mess with your life?" Rose asked. "Don't underestimate how crazy that woman can get. I think that there's something going on somewhere. No one else hates me in tht production team so much as to want to harm me. Only Sonia does. And I think that she isn't working alone. Sonia on her own won't be able to pick up the courage to do something like this. But what if there's someone else behind the scenes? Because i threatened her on the first day of filming, she avioided me for a like time. But then she suddenly came to find me today. It doesn't make sense.it seems like it was all planned. Someone else is using Sonia" Scarlett said. Rose felt that Scarlett's analysis made sense. Sonia can't possibly be doing this on her own. Someone's helping her that's for sure. Someone else wants to get rid of Scarlett using Sonia. But who on Earth could be so sinister? "Do you have any ideas on who could be doing this?" Rose asked. "I really don't want to jump to conclusions but you probably know that Ryder's mother came back recently right? Ryder told me that his mother came back this time because she wants to get something from him. And she's using that ex girlfriend of his, Mira to get it. She wants to match make the both of them for her own purposes. Well, I some really know what she wants from this but that's what Ryder said. Think about it, scandals about Ryder's mistress keeps spreading. She keeps bringing that woman to meet Ryder. What's the aim of all of this? To probably let me misunderstand. Once I misunderstand Ryder and we start fighting, our relationship is going to suffer a crack. Anyway, the end goal is to break the both of us up. I didn't fall for the trick and so she probably got desperate. I really hope that I'm wrong but besides this, I really can't think of anything else" Scarlett said. Rose shuddered when she heard this. The last few days, she had heard about Ryder's mother from Matt. The woman doesn't care about her son at all and she only comes back when she wants something from Ryder. To think that she left him and knot shows up ten years later so she could use him. And she is even trying to make use of his marriage. In this world, is there really such a mother? "How can his mother be so mean? What does she really want from her son that she is ready to go this far? She isn't even scared to play around with the lives of other people?" Rose asked. Scarlett shook her head, not commenting more. She was still scared from the shock. What if Cole didn't save her? What would have happened to her now? Right now, she wasn't even sure if Cole was safe. She hated her father for leaving her and her mother but at least ever since he showed up in front of he'd, he made it clear that he was trying to make it up to her. He wasn't trying to use her at all. How can someone make use of thier son so much, while daring to hurt other people? If really was an eye opener. "Well, I'm sure that Ryder already has a way to deal with him. He told me to come see him at a cafe near the company. I think his mother is trying to match make again and he wants to make things clear. I was on my way but then Sonia showed up and then this incident happened....my mind is a complete mess right now!" Scarlett said. Rose chuckled when she heard that. To think that a day would come when Scarlett would have so much trust in a man. And the man is Ryder. "Scarlett, I never thought that a day was going to come when you will have so much trust in a man!" Rose said. If wasn't clear if she was making fun of Scarlett. Scarlett glared at Rose and rolled her eyes, not bothering to deny it. "And you? I thought that you said that you weren't going to have anything to do with Matt. What happened? Are the both of you a couple now?" Scarlett asked. Rose wasn't as thick skinned as Scarlett and so she blushed immediately. She could not handle the teasing. "Well, even you Scarlett was able to give Ryder a chance....I thought..why should I hold myself back?" Rose managed to make a come back. The both of them looked at each other and didn't say anything more. They had a tacit understanding. Just then, the operating room opened and a nurse whelled Cole out, followed by the doctors. Scarlett walked over to them immediately. "Doctor....how is he? Is he going to be okay?" Scarlett asked, her heart was beating rapidly now. She didn't know what she was going to do if someone really got badly hurt because of her. "He..." The doctor was going to say something but two middle aged women were seen running towards them immediately. "Cole.... Cole....." One of the women called when she got there. She was crying now. Scarlett looked at the women. One of them was her mom? "Mom what are you doing here?" Scarlett asked. Everything was happening so soon and her mind was a mess. Does her mother know Cole? She could tell that the crying woman was Cole's mother but how is her mom involved? Scarlett took a second look at the woman and she realized that she was the one whom she saw with her mom that day at the cafê. What is going on? ........ When Ryder received Matt's call, his mother and Mira were still chatting he was starting to get worried. Why isn't Scarlett here yet? He wanted to put and end to everything today. He has tried calling Scarlett again but her phone was turned off. He was starting to get scared. He immediately excused himself from his mom and Mira and he went to answer the call. "What is going on Matt?" Ryder asked. He knew that Matt and call him at this time if it wasn't for something important. "Ryder.... there's been an accident at the set where Scarlett is filming" Matt said. "What?!" Ryder yelled. He was shocked. And scared....how did this even happen? He and Scarlett talked a while ago and she said that she was coming to meet him. How did she end up in an accident so soon? "What....what happened? Is she hurt?"..... Ryder asked. Matt could tell from the phone that his friend was scared right now. "Calm down Ryder...she isn't the one who got hurt... but someone else got hired trying to save her...." Matt said. Ryder cletched his fists when he heard that. There was no way he was going to believe that this incident was an accident. This isn't an accident! It isn't an accident at all! He knew that for sure. "What....what really happened?" Ryder asked. "I think one of the lightening equipments fell and Scarlett almost got hurt. Anyway, that person pushed her out of the way and he got hurt instead" Matt said. Ryder let out an eerie laugh when he heard that. Everything was starting to add up right now. He turned to look at his mother who was still laughing with Mira. He could understand why she looked satisfied about Scarlett coming to join them. It was because she already knew that Scarlett won't be able to make it.
