Help Her Out? Does She Need it? "You kept begging me to come back, I thought something bad happened. It's not like I can't stay away. I'll just leave" Cole said. He acted as if he could not be bothered to deal with anything else. Vivian resisted the urge to slap a hand to her forehead. She really wanted to know, is it going to kill this son of hers if he did not show this indifferent and cold look to them anytime that he came back. Daniel simply clutched a hand to his chest this time. It was clear that he had reached his limit. "Hey, you, what's your purpose of coming back today? Is it because you want to annoy us to death?" Daniel asked. "Not really. I came back because she begged me to" Cole said gesturing to his mother. Vivian knew that things were going to get out of hand if she did not step up and put an end to this. "Cole! I asked you to come because I want to talk to you about something. Do you have to pick a fight with your father and I the second that you step in?" Vivian asked. She tried to sound as pitiful as possible. Maybe this son of hers will take pity on her and stop causing trouble for her. It seemed that Come was considering the words that his mother said. In the end, he walked over to the couch and sat down opposite them "What do you want to talk to me about?" He asked. Judging from his mother's expression, it was probably something really important. Or she would not have risked asking him to come back. At most, she would come to find him at his place if she wanted to talk to him. "Have you had dinner yet? Let's have dinner" Vivian said. She already had dinner with Daniel but she was ready to accompany her son as long as it meant that he was going to cooperate and not cause trouble for her. "Do you think that I'm going to treat myself poorly? I already had dinner before coming. You don't need to bother with it" Cole said. Vivian's mouth twitched. He could have simply said that he already had dinner. Does he always have to constantly talk as if they owed him a huge amount of money? Ever since Cole walked in, Daniel really could not stop looking at him. It was not the living gaze that a father would give tht son that he had not seen in half a year. Instead, it was filled with disgust!. Seriously, what did he do for him to have this kind of son? What is wrong with this son of his? Instead of studying business so he could take over his company, he ran away from home for some time just so he could study theater outs. When he heard from his son again, it was from the television. Apparently, he was now an actor! He didn't have anything against actors, but he just did not understand why his son was hell bent on opposing him Sometimes, he felt that Cold only took up that career because he wanted to oppose him. His own son felt like he was his nemesis from a past life! Cole seemed to notice that his father had been looking at him for some time now "Why are you looking at me like that?" He snapped. Vivian tried to mediate between the father and son. "Can't you see that his gaze is filled with love? He misses you very much!" Daniel and Cole : ".....!!!!????" What sort of crazy theory is this? Cole was evidently more stunned. His father missed him? He would only believe it when pigs fly! This man was probably very happy to get rid of him! See, he came back after six months and he is so angry that he stepped foot into his house! It was more like he wanted to get rid of this son! "What?! He misses me? Can you come up with a better excuse mom?. I'll believe that when pigs fly!" Cole said. His words were filled with ridicule. Daniel's expression darkened. Even though he did not know how his wife came up with the conclusion that he was looking at Cole because he misses him, the fact still remained that the young man in front of him was his son. Nothing was going to change that fact. And he had not seen him in six months. Of course, he would want to see him. In fact, if not for the fact that Cole lived his life for the sole purpose of annoying him, it wasn't a big deal to admit that he did miss this son of his! "Do you think that I would ever miss you? It's a good thing if you don't come back home to make me angry!" Daniel said. Cole glared at his father for a second before looking away in a huff. Even though he was thinking the same thing, he is still his son! Does he really not care at all? "Hey, am I really your son? You didn't pick me up from the orphanage did you?" Cole asked while gritting his teeth. "What? Do you think that I would have chosen you if I had the chance?" Daniel asked. Cole : "....." For the first time, he did not have a come back. He decided to ignore his father! Hmph! Does he think that he wants him to be his father then? He doesn't want to at all! He has been forced to put up with this! Vivian knew that the situation was starting to get out of hand. In fact, she did not doubt that Cole might just get up and leave She knew that she had to tell him now or else she was never going to have the chance. She cleared her throat before saying, "I have something to talk to you about Cole!" She had to draw his attention away from his father. "What? What is it!" Cole snapped. He was already in a very bad because of his father. "You know Scarlett right?" Vivian asked. "Scarlett?" Cole asked. He was in the entertainment industry so there was no way that he did not know of that woman. She was quite a legend. It wasn't just because of her acting. Her temper was something that was a hidden secret in the industry. There was no way that he had not heard of her. But why is his mother asking him about her? Is Vivian trying to set him up for some blind date again? But he heard that she got married a few days ago! What the hell?! She wants to set him up with a married woman? Cole turned to gaze at his mother. There was some suspicion in that gaze. "Well, I've heard of her. Why are you asking me about her? I'm telling you, I won't go on a blind date with her! She's totally not my type at all! And she is already married!" Cole said. His words clearly expressed how he despised the idea of having anything to do with Scarlett. Vivian "....." What really is going on in the mind of this young man? "What blind date?! I just want to ask you to take care of her since she is the same industry with you! I don't want to set you up with her!" Vivian said. She just wants him to look out for his cousin! Cole was speechless. She doesn't want to set him up with Scarlett yet she wants to take care of her since she is in the same industry with him? Does this even make any sense?! "Mom, I won't have anything to do with a married woman!" Cole felt that he had to make his stance clear to his mother before she started to get any other ideas in her mind. "You.....!" Vivian was starting to see why her husband could not stand this son of his. Like how right now Daniel was pretending to look at the television but it was merely because he did not want to pay attention to this son of his and be angered to death. "She...she is your cousin! I want to take care of her since she is your cousin!" Vivian said. Since her husband already agreed to have a talk with his sister and reconcile with her, then it's only right to have Cole look out for his cousin so that nothing would happen to her. Where did he even get this crazy idea of his from? There was a time when she did think of introducing some girls to her son because he was already this old but she already gave up the idea! Anyway, right now, she was going to feel really bad for the girl that actually ended up with this son of hers! Vivian really wanted to see whose family's daughter would be so unlucky as to have something to do with her son! "What?" Cole was obviously having a hard time changing lanes. Just a second ago, he had thought that his mother was trying to set him up with a married woman And now his mother tells him that that married woman is his cousin! How is this even possible? "Wait mom, what is the meaning of this? How is she my cousin?" Cole asked. "Don't you know that cousin means? She's your father's niece! The daughter of your father's sister!" Vivian yelled. She was exasperated. Seriously, was there a switch up at the hospital?! How on Earth is this person her son? "My father has a niece?" Cole asked. There was a look of disbelief and bewilderment on his face. Vivian was trying hard to keep herself from chasing this guy off with a broom. "Of course!" She answered, good naturedly. "Ah....I thought that his life has always been smooth sailing because he did not have any siblings. I really thought that he always had a good life because he did not have anyone to compete with him. Turns out that he has a sister. Tsk, tsk, how unfortunate is she to have your husband as an older brother? It must be really tough for her. I do admire you. She managed to survive growing up with you" Cole said. There was no way that Daniel could continue to ignore Cole anymore! At this point, Vivian was now ignoring her husband. She would find a way to pacify him later. Right now, she had to talk to Cole and then chase him off immediately before he increases her blood pressure. She really could not take it anymore! "Yes of course your father has a sister! I've told you about her countless times! She's my best friend. I met your father because of her!" Vivian said. Cole squinted his eyes like he was finding it hard to believe the words that he just heard. "You have friends?" He asked in surprise. Vivian "......" At this point, there was no way that Vivian could pretend to be calm. Obviously, she has underestimated the vicious tongue of this son of hers! "Of course I have friends! What do you mean by that!?!"
