Chapter 71: A New Look

Joseph gave the nurse a cold, piercing stare, filled with such murderous intent that she was terrified and collapsed to the ground. Ignoring her, Joseph continued walking towards the emergency room, pushing Hecarim along. The emergency room doctor was also a bit disgusted by Hecarim's condition but didn't dare show it. Joseph stood before the doctor, looking down at him with an icy gaze. "Treat him well. If there's any mistake, I won't let you off," Joseph said coldly. The doctor, trembling with fear, quickly nodded. "Does he need surgery?" the doctor asked. Joseph shook his head. "It's possible but not necessary. Just take him inside and clean him up properly." Although Hecarim could have been treated outside, Joseph felt that wouldn't be good for him. Hecarim, feeling a bit embarrassed, said, "I'm not having surgery; it's not necessary to go to the operating room." "No matter. That nurse looked down on you, so let's show her your worth," Joseph replied. Hecarim nodded in agreement. After Hecarim was taken into the operating room, Joseph waited outside, reminiscing about their past together. After a while, the doctor came out and said, "The patient is fine now. We've treated all his wounds with precise instruments. Though we didn't perform surgery, he still needs some time to rest." Hecarim was wheeled out, looking sheepish. "These doctors and nurses treated me well. Joseph, you don't need to scare them." Joseph reassured him, "Brother, it's all in the past now. From today on, you'll start a new life." He then pushed Hecarim out of the hospital. Although Hecarim's wounds had been treated, he still needed a thorough clean-up. Joseph took him to a barber shop. "Let's wash your hair," Joseph said. Hecarim was astounded by the idea of a pretty girl washing his hair. After the hair wash, Joseph took him to another place for a more comprehensive clean-up. A beautiful woman approached Hecarim. "I'll give you a bath," she said. Hecarim was stunned. "This..." Joseph laughed at his reaction. "Go on." Hecarim indeed needed a proper bath, something only professionals could provide. With money, anything was possible. After more than an hour, Hecarim emerged, looking like a completely different person. Dressed in new clothes, the once majestic Hecarim had returned. Joseph looked at the transformed Hecarim, nodding in satisfaction. He patted Hecarim's shoulder and said, "Let's go, brother. Now, we'll take back everything that belongs to you." Hecarim looked at Joseph with gratitude, his eyes shining with determination. They arrived at Cardiff's commercial center, which used to be Joseph's property. Now it was under Cardiff's control. As they walked into the building, people looked on in surprise. Hecarim walked confidently to the front desk. Knowing about Joseph, the receptionist bowed slightly to him. After handling some business matters, they waited for the representatives from the three major families to arrive the next day. Joseph booked a hotel room for Hecarim, right next to his own. Then, he called Dr. Mundo. "Hello, doctor. Is there any chance Hecarim can walk again?" Joseph asked. Dr. Mundo pondered for a moment. "The chances are slim, but I can try." If Dr. Mundo couldn't do it, no one could. Joseph had faith in his abilities. That night, Joseph visited Hecarim's room to discuss future plans. Hecarim expressed his desire to walk again. "Actually, I want to live like a normal person again. But you know my condition..." Hecarim said. Joseph thought for a moment and then promised to support him fully. "Trust me, I'll help you. No matter what happens, I'll take care of you." "Alright!" Since they had to meet with the representatives of the three major families the next day, Joseph returned to his room early. As he relaxed, he thought about his women, Lucy and Tangna, wondering what they were doing. At the same time, Lucy was at home, holding her phone, looking at her chat with Joseph. "Should I call him? What if he's busy?" she wondered. "What if he doesn't see my message?" After debating with herself, Lucy finally dialed Joseph's number. Seeing her call, Joseph smiled and quickly answered. "Hello, Lucy." "Um...it's me. Are you busy?" Lucy's voice was a bit tense. "No, I'm not busy. I was just thinking about you," Joseph responded warmly. Lucy's heart raced, and her cheeks turned pink. "I was thinking about you too... When will you come to get us?" "I'm not sure. I still have some things to handle here. But I'll get someone to bring you over as soon as possible. Take care of yourself," Joseph said with concern. "Maybe tomorrow or the day after. My men will notify you in advance." Hearing this, Lucy nodded. "Alright, I will. Take care." "Don't worry, I will," Joseph reassured her. "Lucy, when I come back, we have a lot to talk about." Lucy felt a mix of emotions. "Why do I always have to be the one to call first? Doesn't he miss me?" she thought, feeling a bit frustrated.
