Chapter 64: All Five Henchmen Are Dead!
Just as Beelzebub finished off the Executioner, sounds of panic erupted nearby.
"Ah! Run! We're about to get out!"
"Watch out! There's someone over there too!"
"Help us, please! We are innocent!"
Beelzebub waved her hand dismissively, flicking off the grime from her clothes. "Kill you? I have no desire for that. Just get out of here, it has nothing to do with me."
Though these people had committed many misdeeds under the Executioner’s orders, they were coerced and forced into it. They were victims of the Executioner’s control, and without him, they had no reason to continue.
Seeing that Beelzebub didn't intend to harm them, they all nodded gratefully. "Thank you! Thank you for sparing us!"
Not just them, but the girl who was nearly killed and the doctors in the room also knelt before Beelzebub in gratitude.
"Thank you, you're like a goddess to us."
"Thanks to you, I don't know what would have happened!"
"We should leave quickly; getting out of here safely is our top priority!"
As Beelzebub watched them leave, she heard Abaddon's voice.
"Wow, you're fast!"
At the same time, Cardiff was lounging in bed with a woman.
"Ring ring—!"
Before Cardiff could react, his phone rang. Hearing the ringtone, Cardiff was shocked. "What's going on? What is this?"
He squinted and answered the call. "Are you all crazy? Why are you calling me now?"
"I'm watching a movie with your sister!"
Their "sister" was Pix's sister, Jennifer. Interrupting her would be tantamount to crossing Pix. But the person on the other end was unfazed.
"Something big has happened! Mr. Cardiff, you will be very shocked by this!"
Not afraid of even mentioning Jennifer? This must be serious. Cardiff squinted.
"Speak."
"The places where Pix's five henchmen were stationed have all exploded!"
"No one can reach those five now!"
"If I'm not mistaken, an unknown force has killed them all!"
Cardiff was stunned and immediately sat up. "What did you say?!"
He quickly opened the curtains. From his place, Cardiff could see where the five henchmen were stationed. As his subordinate spoke, Cardiff noticed that all locations associated with Pix's henchmen were engulfed in flames.
Five significant fires blazed across the vast Florida landscape.
What's going on?! Cardiff was in shock. "This..."
As he observed the raging fires around him, Cardiff instinctively called Pix, but no one answered.
Jennifer, unaware of the situation, asked, "What's wrong?"
"Wait..."
Cardiff, now extremely agitated, didn't know what was happening. He realized this mysterious force was well-prepared and decisive.
"Find out who did this!"
Cardiff shouted. "And ensure Jennifer's safety!"
After hanging up, Cardiff's face turned grim. He knew a significant crisis loomed, and he had to act quickly to protect himself and those around him.
But there was only one person capable of orchestrating such an event—Joseph.
Or maybe...
No way! Cardiff shook his head violently.
"Everyone in Florida knows I'm the boss! How could he dare show up here!"
"Even if it is him, what does it matter to me!"
"But..."
Joseph's image lingered in Cardiff's mind.
"Never mind, let's go!"
Cardiff looked at Jennifer. "We should leave Florida now."
If Joseph was behind all this, it wouldn't end here. He was known for returning favors and exacting revenge. If he caught Cardiff...
With that thought, Cardiff began packing.
He knew he had done wrong and was terrified.
"Why are you so anxious? Even if something happens, my brother is here!"
"With my brother around, what are you afraid of?"
Cardiff continued packing, nervously glancing around. He felt as though eyes were watching him, making him uncomfortable.
"Hopefully, it's just my imagination..."
He muttered to himself. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and Cardiff's heart raced.
"Who is it?"
He asked warily.
"It's me, Mr. Cardiff. Open up!"
The familiar voice outside was a relief—it was his subordinate, Jessica.
He opened the door, and Jessica rushed in.
"I heard about what happened with Pix's henchmen. What exactly happened?"
Cardiff anxiously asked. Jessica explained everything.
Cardiff was stunned. "No, I must leave Florida immediately!"
Jessica thought for a moment. "Maybe we should understand their motives first, rather than running blindly."
Cardiff hesitated but finally nodded.
Jennifer, still confused, asked, "What are you talking about? You're speaking in riddles!"
"Can you just explain it directly?"
"And you, Cardiff, I'm talking to you! If you keep ignoring me, I'll tell my brother!"
But Cardiff was too busy to care. Hearing Jennifer's threat, Cardiff snapped.
"Fine, go tell your brother! Do you know how dangerous it is now?!"
"All of your brother's five henchmen are dead! Aren't you scared?!"
