Chapter 1179
Wyatt stood up, utterly shocked. While sitting and cultivating, Zarian dragged off the iron pot, devouring a piece of the Dual-Horned Power Pig's meat with wild enthusiasm.
When Wyatt stepped closer, his heart sank. The pot was completely empty. Most of the stew, including the broth, had gone straight into Zarian's stomach.
Zarian looked up, letting out a loud belch. Its eyes glistened with tears as it tearfully explained, "I ate my friend's meat with the deepest respect. This way, he lives on within me. It's like a rebirth, you know?"
Wyatt stared at Zarian, his expression a mix of disbelief and anger. "You've got no principles! Eating your friend's meat? And you finished the whole pot! Who do you think I made that stew for?"
It darted off before Wyatt could take his frustration out on the cub, narrowly avoiding another beating.
Meanwhile, Estelle finished her breakthrough, reaching the pinnacle of the Arcane Peak. The stew's immense energy was no joke—it wasn't surprising she had advanced so far. Without Wyatt's guidance, though, she might have been torn apart by the violent energy coursing through her.
"I can't believe it. I'm at the pinnacle of the Arcane Peak!" Estelle said, gazing at herself with excitement and disbelief.
"Wyatt, I'll never forget your kindness," Linus said earnestly as he stood. He had advanced to the beginner stage of the Absolute Realm, all thanks to the stew Wyatt had generously shared.
"Don't mention it," Wyatt replied with a grin. He considered Linus a friend now, and he wasn't one to hold back when helping his friends.
…
After everyone had eaten and advanced in their cultivation, Wyatt turned his attention to interrogating Zarian. He still had unfinished business with Tamara, and this was his chance to gather some answers.
Zarian, whether out of guilt or fear, was much more cooperative this time. It shared several startling revelations.
"Tamara isn't just some local from the Land of Blessings," Zarian began. "She's a pureblooded nine-tailed fox—a true divine beast cub from the ancient era. Her lineage and status were unmatched even in those times."
Wyatt's eyes widened. A genuine divine beast cub? This was no ordinary creature.
"Millions of years ago, during the ancient era, there was a massive war involving countless races. The celestial nine-tailed fox faced annihilation. Tamara, who had just been born, was the purest of their bloodline—a nine-tailed fox of incredible power.
"To preserve their legacy, the clan sealed her in the Land of Blessings using a secret technique."
"I grew up with Tamara," Zarian added with a sly grin. "We were childhood friends, inseparable."
"Stay on topic! I don't care about your one-sided crush," Wyatt interrupted with a wave of his hand.
"One-sided? How dare you! Tamara was totally into me. She admired me, respected me, and maybe even loved me!" Zarian roared indignantly.
Wyatt raised a fist. "Don't make me shut you up."
Zarian backed down, muttering, "No need to resort to violence. I'm just trying to explain."
"Fine. Keep talking." Wyatt lowered his hand.
Zarian continued, "Ten thousand years ago, a mysterious figure came to the Land of Blessings and took Tamara away. I don't know what happened to her after that. But now that the Land of Blessings has reopened, Tamara's returned. She's here to reclaim what's hers."
"What exactly is she after? The celestial lion's relic?" Wyatt asked.
"That's just part of it," Zarian replied, rolling its eyes. "The celestial nine-tailed fox didn't seal Tamara here without leaving her some kind of legacy. She's here to retrieve the inheritance of the clan itself!"
