Chapter 1174
"What?" Linus blinked, utterly baffled.
Seeing the stunned looks on both their faces, Wyatt's grin faltered for a second.
But then, patting the pile of game on his back, he enthusiastically said, "It's all fresh game! What's wrong? Don't tell me you don't want to eat. I say we grill it with some salt and pepper. I've got all the seasonings with me!"
Linus was speechless, his face twitching. This was the same Wyatt he'd just praised as a disciplined prodigy focused solely on training. Now, the guy was treating a rare game like a backyard barbecue.
Meanwhile, Estelle's eyes sparkled as she stared at Wyatt. This was exactly her kind of vibe.
"Alright. You two, help me prep this stuff. I'll take care of the grilling. Sound good?" Wyatt dumped the animals onto the ground and shot them a cheery grin.
"Absolutely!" Estelle replied without hesitation.
Linus forced a bitter smile but nodded, stepping forward to start cleaning the game.
"Here, let me help with this one. It's heavy," Wyatt said, pointing to the massive Dual-Horned Power Pig.
"What? You're planning to eat this too?" Linus practically jumped in shock.
Wyatt nodded matter-of-factly, and Linus sighed, exasperated. "Wyatt, that's not just any beast! This is a genuine Dual-Horned Power Pig. Every part of it—the skin, meat, tendons, organs, and even blood—is priceless.
"Eating it would be a colossal waste! The best thing to do would be to find an alchemist and craftsman to refine its blood and flesh into elixirs and its bones into—"
"Hey, I killed it," Wyatt interrupted, his tone casual but firm.
Three words. That was all it took to shut Linus up. "Fine. You killed it. Your call," he thought.
Still, his heart ached. Turning a rare beast like this into dinner? It was like watching someone throw a treasure chest overboard.
"Hey, man. How's it going with that prep work?" Wyatt asked, noticing Linus still looked battered and bruised. "What about that Carnelian Bloodfruit I gave you?"
"I, uh, I still have it. These are just scratches. I didn't want to waste such a valuable herb on them," Linus said, waving his hand defensively.
Wyatt rolled his eyes. "Come on, man. It's just a fruit. Use it. If you run out, I'll get you another one."
"That's… a bit much, isn't it?" Linus looked flustered. Using a top-tier elixir for minor injuries felt ridiculously extravagant.
"Suit yourself. Enjoy the pain then." Wyatt shrugged and, without another word, dragged the Dual-Horned Power Pig toward the creek.
"Ryatt, this pig's hide is ridiculously tough. I can't even cut through it," Estelle said, her sword sparking against the beast's hide as she tried to slice it.
"No problem. Use this instead." Wyatt reached into his storage ring and pulled out a gleaming sword.
With that, Wyatt pulled a sword from his storage ring—the very one that had belonged to Maxim, one of the sacred disciples of the Shade Order. It was an exceptionally sharp blade, likely a top-tier weapon.
"Th-this… this is the Hundred Blade Sword, one of the Shade Order's five legendary swords! It belongs to the Shade Order's sacred disciple, Maxim. Ryatt, how do you have this?" Linus exclaimed, his jaw practically hitting the ground.
"I killed him and took it," Wyatt replied casually as if he were talking about picking up groceries.
Linus almost cursed out loud. Wyatt made it sound so simple, but he knew better. Maxim wasn't just some random disciple. He was a sacred one of the Shade Order, a master swordsman with unparalleled skills. With the Hundred Blade Sword in hand, Maxim was nearly unbeatable.
And yet, Wyatt had killed him.
This wasn't arrogance. Wyatt genuinely had the strength to back up his words. It suddenly made sense why he'd issued a solo bounty against the Shade Order earlier.
Estelle, meanwhile, was already testing the sword. With a quick thrust, the blade easily pierced through the Dual-Horned Power Pig's tough hide, leaving a long, clean cut.
"Ryatt, this sword is amazing! It's so sharp! Are you really giving it to me?" Estelle asked, holding the blade with wide-eyed excitement.
