Chapter 1165

Wyatt clenched his fists, staring at the small piece of celestial lion leg bone in his hand. Compared to the entire celestial lion treasure body, it was nothing—a mere scrap. While Tamara got rich off the deal, he was left with the crumbs. "Leave the celestial lion body!" he roared, his frustration boiling over as he lunged toward Tamara. Tamara smirked. "The celestial lion body has been a hundred years in the making for my fox clan. You should be grateful for the small piece you managed to get." With that, she casually pulled out a teleportation talisman. In the blink of an eye, her figure vanished, leaving nothing but empty space where she had stood. "Did she escape?" Wyatt froze, stunned. The spot she had occupied was now completely empty. "What kind of trickery is this?" All he had seen was a talisman in her hand, and in an instant, she had disappeared. His face turned grim. After all his efforts, he had done the hard work while Tamara reaped the rewards. She had walked away with the entire celestial lion body. She was the ultimate victor. Frustration churned in Wyatt's chest. He had fought tooth and nail against the Nine-Headed lion-tiger beast king, teetering on the edge of madness, only for someone else to steal the prize. It was a bitter pill to swallow, like accidentally biting into something rotten. Still, he couldn't deny her skill. Tamara had layers upon layers of hidden cards, each more impressive than the last. He felt completely outplayed. "You won't get away forever. You can run, but you can't hide," Wyatt muttered, his eyes glinting coldly. He had already marked her with his divine sense before she fled. As long as she stayed within a hundred-mile radius, he would be able to sense her presence. However, when he scanned for the mark, there was nothing. She was already far beyond a hundred miles. "That must have been a teleportation talisman… or maybe a spatial shift talisman," Wyatt murmured. He was no stranger to talismans—he was a skilled talisman maker himself. But crafting a teleportation talisman required a level of expertise and cultivation far beyond his current abilities. Once again, he was astounded by Tamara's deep reserves of resources and abilities. With something like that in her possession, she could escape from almost any situation unscathed. "This feels terrible." He sighed, leaving the treasure cavern in haste. He couldn't stay; the Nine-Headed lion-tiger beast king and its horde of two-headed beasts still prowled the area. Wyatt dashed down the mountain, bitterness gnawing at him. "It's like walking into a treasure trove and leaving empty-handed. This sucks." Yet, as he pulled out the celestial lion leg bone from his storage, he admitted to himself that it wasn't a total loss. He examined the foot-long bone closely. The celestial lion, nearing the end of its lifespan, had fought its final battle before attempting self-destruction. Though it had failed, its body bore numerous cracks, which Wyatt had exploited to sever this piece. Without those cracks, even his flying sword couldn't have cut through. But his initial excitement waned. The bone, though once divine, had suffered the toll of time. Its golden glow still hinted at its former majesty, but its essence had nearly faded. "This thing's just a husk," he muttered, disappointed. The bone's core was brittle, the flesh long decayed. Even the celestial lion blood within it, once a treasure, was now little more than a few sparse drops scattered like grains of sand. "If I had the full celestial lion body, I could have extracted at least a bowl of treasure blood, maybe even a basin. The essence would've been in its organs and core. But now…" He grimaced, his frustration mounting. The small piece of celestial lion bone felt like a cruel joke. It was too degraded to eat, and its energy was too little to use. He tossed it back into his storage space with a bitter sigh. "Tamara, you better hope I don't catch you," he growled. Wyatt put away the celestial lion's leg bone, casually tossing it into the dimensional crystal. A mere frustration surged within him—he needed to vent or let it out somehow. "I need something to take the edge off. A feast sounds about right," he muttered to himself, thinking back to Zarian he had seen earlier. "If I can get my hands on Zarian, it'll be more than just a meal—it'll be a power boost."
