LIAM’S POV
The moment I walked into my office, I felt it.
Her scent hit me before I even reached the door.
Sweet, sickly roses—fake, overbearing, and too familiar.

She was already sitting there like she owned the place. Her legs were crossed elegantly. Her expression was calm but her eyes were sharp with something I couldn’t stand to see anymore—expectation. And maybe…possession.
I didn’t speak. I just walked past her and headed straight to my desk. I pulled off my jacket and placed it over the chair.
The air between us was thick with tension, and not the kind that leads anywhere good.
“You’ve been avoiding me,” she finally said. Her voice was slightly raised, as if it had taken everything in her not to explode the moment I walked in. “And now you’re just going to act like I’m not even here?”
