Chapter 15: Dining Among the Clouds

I was still feeling a little nervous around him. Simon had been acting so strange recently. I couldn't help picking up his nervous energy every time I saw him. When he insisted that we needed to talk, the clinic was about to close. I told Willard to take it from there and then put on my coat, and left with Simon. I kept sensing a growing distance between us. He said that he wanted to talk to me. It just so happened that I wanted to make things clear to him as well. It was a little cold, and I was only wearing a thin trench coat. As a gust of wind blew over, a yellow leaf fell on me. I was so cold that I shivered. Immediately after, a warm coat was draped over me, and I saw Simon smiling at me. This was the Simon I knew. His warmth always came unexpectedly and made me feel warm from the bottom of my heart. "Mia, come on, let's go eat first," he insisted. "You don't know how annoyed I get going to so many meetings.. At this moment, his eyebrows relaxed into a somewhat playful shape. My mood also relaxed. "Aren't you the alpha's successor? Is that what upsets you?" Simon opened the car door for me. "Mia, there have been too many things going on recently. I won't feel upset at all when I'm by your side." Simon took me to the Luna Building. I looked up from outside. This was the tallest building in our local area. It was 900 meters tall. I'd heard Sofia say more than once that her greatest ambition was to dine in Luna Building's Skypark. It was said to be very beautiful there. It was so close to the sky that clouds floated beneath people's feet as they dined. However, the place only served ten guests a day, and tickets could not be bought with money alone. I looked up at the building that soared into the sky. I had never thought that I would really go to the top floor to eat. After all, it only received alphas and top dignitaries. "Why are there no floor buttons in this elevator?" I asked. Simon simply smiled as waited as the doors closed and the elevator went straight up. "Oh my God!" I was standing in the elevator and I felt like we were rising and everything around me was getting smaller... "Simon." I grabbed the corner of Simon's shirt. It was higher than I had expected. I closed my eyes in fear. Simon gripped my hand tightly. As time passed, the elevator finally stopped. I heard Simon's low voice in my ear. "Mia, welcome to my world." Slowly I opened my eyes. "God, I think I'm going to faint." The setting here was magnificent. Everything around me was shimmering with gold. Dozens of uniformed staff saluted me respectfully. "Welcome home." Surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass, I felt like I was in a sea of clouds. The floor under my feet suddenly cracked in the middle. I jumped and grabbed Simon's arm. Simon said gently, "Don't be afraid. There's no danger." I took a closer look. It turned out that after the floor separated, there was also a transparent glass walkway under my feet. If I didn't look carefully, I would think that I was standing on the cloud. "Goddess, this seems like a dream!" I didn't even know how I managed to sit down A delicacy had been placed in front of me. Simon said apologetically, "I'm sorry. I asked you what you wanted to eat just now. You were looking outside and didn't seem to hear me, so I took the liberty to order you this." I was so embarrassed that my face turned red. I looked at the waiter beside me and whispered in awe, "This is the sky restaurant on the top floor." Simon nodded and even thoughtfully helped me cut my steak. "Yes, and there's only you and me here today. If you like, I can get the waiters to leave too." I nodded. Simon did not say anything. He just waved his hand. The waiter and violinists who were standing a little further away all retreated. "Is this the life of wealthy people?" I knew that Simon was rich, but I just thought that he had a few houses. It didn't occur to me he was this rich. There seemed to be a piece of meat in front of me. I opened my mouth and ate it. It really melted in my mouth. It was too delicious. I was about to say something when something that emitted a sweet smell was presented in front of me. I bit it again. It was crisp and refreshing. Again, I came back to my senses and saw Simon's fork in front of me again. Oh my goodness, he's feeding me... "I've never seen such a scene before, so I've been rude. I'm sorry." Simon just smiled gently and said nothing. I fell quiet too and just lowered my head to eat. This time, it wasn't because I was shy, but because it was really too delicious. Both the steak and asparagus here tasted nothing like those I had eaten before. I looked at Simon a little indignantly. There was a tantalizing aroma coming from his glass. Amused, he said, "You're a girl and you're still young, so don't drink wine. You've already had one. Look how red your cheeks are." Simon leaned over and kissed my red lips lightly. "I always blush. I blushed when you kiss me. Why did you have to kiss me again..." I couldn't finish the sentence. I couldn't bring myself to do so. I didn't know why I had to mention this. "Alright, but I still have to make it clear... I didn't do it on purpose the last time..." "It's alright. What the hell am I talking about? I'd better not say anything." I thought. I heard Simon chuckle. "Mia, you're so cute." By the time the meal was over, it was already completely dark. I had never seen such a dark night. When the roof quietly unrolled open as well and there was glass above us, I saw the moon in the sky, golden and brilliant as if it were hanging from black velvet. I was stunned by this fairytale world. I didn't expect there to be something more shocking. Simon stood behind me and whispered, "Mia, look, a miracle has happened."
