Chapter 3921
“I think Austin gives you special treatment, Isa. His gaze and smile are different when it comes to you. You’re a clever person. I’m sure you felt something.
“Have you ever thought that the person his nana has chosen for him is you?”
Isabella frowned. “I don’t even know what his nana looks like, nor have I met her before. How could she possibly choose me? Besides, he said he’d be resigning to pursue that woman.
“Anyway, I’m glad that you’re not sad. Just stay away from him and enjoy the food he cooks. Don’t think about anything else.”
Tati was speechless.
Isabella never believed her when she said she was not interested in Austin at all.
However, when Tati thought of the way she acted around Austin, she could not blame Isabella for the misunderstanding. She had been expressing her admiration for Austin too outwardly.
Since Isabella was giving her advice, she would do as Isabella said to reassure her.
Tati decided not to go over to Isabella’s place for meals and keep a distance from Austin next year. That way, Isabella would finally believe that she had “given up.”
There was no helping it. Tati thought there was no need to miss out on good food since she was finally on vacation. She could simply pretend as if she knew nothing and continued eating at Isabella’s place.
Of course, she would refrain from complimenting Austin before Isabella to prevent further misunderstanding.
“I’ll listen to you and stay away from Austin, Isa,” said Tati confidently.
“I shall head out now.”
Isabella nodded but did not follow Tati out of the study. After Tati left, Isabella leaned against her chair and gave Tati’s words some thought.
Has she ever met Old Mrs. York?
In the end, she was certain that she had never seen the old lady before.
For the last few years, the elderly women she had met were only her clients. Some of them were still managing their businesses and negotiating with her despite their old age.
Isabella knew the names of those elderly women. None of them could have been Old Mrs. York.
Since she had not met the old lady before, there was no way she was selected as Austin’s betrothed.
As she had this thought, she let out a self-deprecating laugh and said, “What’s wrong with me? Was I hoping that I was Austin’s fiancée?”
She even advised Tati to give up earlier.
Isabella soon cleared all thoughts about Austin and his fiancée out of her head. Those things had nothing to do with her at all.
She had simply hired Austin as a chef and never thought of marrying someone who was working for her family.
Soon, Isabella went downstairs.
She chatted and watched the TV with her family as if nothing had happened.
Isabella liked a life like that. Usually, she would be busy with the company and was rarely at home. She never had many opportunities to accompany her family.
Even Louis’s chatter and mischief made her feel happy.
Isabella remained calm and stopped overthinking.
