Chapter 126
Aisha's POV
The night tore apart around me.
The battlefield stretched before the hospital like a storm given shape. Wolves clashed with wolves, metal screamed against bone, and in the middle of it all, Simon was a force of nature.
Even in his wolf form I could pick him out easily, the enormous silver-gray blur ripping through Brayden's men, every movement precise and merciless.
But my eyes weren't on him.
They were on the figure I spotted moving fast, too fast, past the edge of the chaos.
The vampire lord.
He wasn't fighting. He wasn't even looking at anyone else. His gaze was fixed on the hospital. On me.
A shiver ran down my spine, but I forced myself to stand taller behind the shield line. I couldn't panic now.
I pressed my palms against the chest of another fallen warrior, pouring power into the wound. The scent of blood was thick, copper and smoke. My hands burned with the effort, but I didn't let up until his breath steadied.
"Go," I told him, and he stumbled away, alive.
