Chapter 84

Scarlett sat in the living room scrolling through her phone looking at the news. She tried to sleep before but no matter how she tried she just could not go to sleep. It did not even occur to her that she was waiting for Ryder right now. Just then, she heard the sound of a car pulling up into the house. She knew that Ryder was back now. ..if he met her in the living room, he is going to misunderstand and think that she was waiting for him right? She did not want him to think that! She immediately ran to her room and pretended to sleep. Scarlett was already in her room when she heard the door opening. She was trying to fall asleep but she wasn't asleep yet so she immediately heard the door when it opened. She knew that it was Ryder. She reached out for her phone and looked at the time. Heh, he is only coming back now. Wait, why does she care when he comes back? It would be even better for her if he could stay out longer! She won't have to care about him at all then! Still, knowing that he has come back, Scarlett could not go back to sleep. She was already having a hard time sleeping before and she was having an even harder time now. Seriously, what should she do with this person? Scarlett lied down on the bed and closed her eyes pretending to sleep. But then the door opened and Ryder walked in. Her expression stiffened when she realized that. Why did he come in here? Scarlett's eyes snapped open at once when she saw he came into the room. "What are you doing here?" Scarlett snarled at him. Ryder's expression was soft. Even though he knew that she was despising him right now, he could not help himself. He felt that this was what it meant to be truly in love with someone. He could accept anything about her, as like as be could continue to see her like this. "What do you mean? Of course I'm going to be here,we are married of course" Ryder said. Scarlett wanted to refute him and tell him that this was not a marriage of convience but she remembered that he had already told her that he would like to be a real couple with her. That excuse wasn't going to work on him anymore. What should she do now? She weighed the pros and cons and just decided to let him be. But just as Scarlett had decided to take a step back, Ryder spoke up again. "Besides, did you forget the bet that we made? If you lose, you'll have to share a room with me. Did you forget?" Ryder asked. Scarlett's face went red when she thought about it. It was true, she did make such a bet with him, because she was confident that she would win. But the events that happened after all proved her wrong. She was really regretting going on that honeymoon with him, nothing went well for her since she decided to go on a honeymoon with him! And as if that wasn't enough, he still tricked her into having to share a room with him. She won't be able to guard against him much in this kind of situation. Seriously what should she do? "You.... " Scarlett wanted to say something but the second she opened her mouth she realized that there was nothing that she could say to him. She was at a loss for words. "Scarlett" Ryder called out. His voice was sombre. Scarlett could not resist the urge to sit upright and look at Ryder properly. The second she did that, she regretted it. She felt that she was falling into an endless whirlpool. What's wrong with the look in the man's eyes? He looked like....he was about to devour her.... Ryder wasn't planning on doing anything to Scarlett. But when he saw the dazed look in her eyes, he really could not control himself. He wasn't a good person. He knew that fact. He had messed around with a lot of women in his life, but still.... Scarlett was the first and only woman who could make him feel like this. The only woman who could make him feel like his self control was worth nothing at all. And really, his self control was worth nothing in front of her. He didn't even bother to try. He simply couldn't do it. He inched closer to Scarlett. This time though, Scarlett didn't try to back away from him. She was sitting on the bed, looking at him, at this point, ur just seemed that she was trying to figure out what he was going to do to her. This reaction excited Ryder all the more. Ryder pinched her chin and then forced her to look into his eyes. Right now, he really wanted to kiss her full lips.... He leaned in closer on her and caught her lips in a fierce movement. He knew what Scarlett was like, if he continued to hesitate like this, he would be getting nothing in the end. Ryder sucked on her lips but Scarlett refused to give him access into her mouth. He didn't think much about it, he just thought that the woman still had her guard up against him. Scarlett's mind however, was already a complete mess. She didn't know what she was supposed to do or how she was supposed to keep up with this. What is going on? Should she respond to the kiss? Before she could think of what else to do, Scarlett felt a hand creeping up her body. Ryder who was kissing her had long lose all of his self control. His hands were no longer honest. At first, they were resting by his side. But now, they were roaming all over Scarlett's body. He first started with wanting to tease her, and now it just seemed as if he had dug a hole for himself. He could not extricate himself from this. Not that he wanted to anyway. His hands crept up her sleepwear, then he noticed that she wasn't wearing anything under it. Ryder sucked in a breath. Seriously, is this woman planning to seduce him? Ryder smiled mockingly at himself when he had that thought. She doesn't even want to have anything to do with him so why would she plan to seduce him? This was probably just a concidence. A happy coincidence. He kept feeling around her body and he cupped a feel of her breast. Immediately, he felt Scarlett's body stiffen. At first, she wasn't enthusiastic but she wasn't averse to it either, so he thought that he could continue. Scarlett cursed herself over and over in her head. She did not know what was wrong with her. They same thing had happened yesterday. What really is going on with her? Why can't she refuse this person's advances? She even knew that he was with some other woman last night...she had seen the pictures...and yet..... She really felt that she was pathetic right now. Ryder was still trying to figure out what was going on with Scarlett. He tried to continue kissing her but she pushed him away firmly this time. He scratched his head. Well, it wasn't as if he could say that he didn't know what was making her angry. He knew...he knew quite well. "Scarlett...is there something wrong?" He still asked her. In front of Scarlett, he always had to be careful. "Don't touch me!" Scarlett snapped. He looked at Scarlett but then she turned her face away. He would be an idioit if he didn't already get the message. She doesn't want to. He got it loud and clear. He should leave her alone now. Even though he was disappointed, he tried to cheer himself up. He was too anxious. He had not even confirmed if she wanted to give his relationship with her a try or not. But he was already thinking of....serves him right for being too excited. He totally deserved this. "I'm sorry I...." Ryder started with his apology but when he looked at Scarlett's face, he really did not want to continue the damned apology. He just wanted to push her down and take her! Damn it! She was his wife! Why did he have to have so many considerations if he wanted to do something with her? He should have known better than to have that bet with her! This was pure torture! Sleeping next to her and not being able to do anything was much more torture than not sleeping with her at all! In end though, he still let his rationality take over and continued with the apology. "I'm really sorry Scarlett, I, guess I was too excited just now. I wasn't thinking straight. Don't worry, I'm not going to force you to do anything with me. As long as you don't want to, I won't force you. Just now, I was too anxious. It's my fault sorry" Ryder said. Scarlett glared at Ryder. As long as she doesn't want to? Who does he think that he is giving that crap apology to? Does he think that that is the issue here? "What? Who do you think that you are apologizing to? Do you think that this is why I'm angry?" Scarlett asked. Ryder knew...he clearly knew....but he was till trying to avoid it. He could only fool himself into thinking that maybe there is something else. He was really sharp when he was dealing with his mother and Mira but he really did not know what he was supposed to do with his wife. "Why Scarlett? Did I do something to make you angry?" "Make me angry? Do I have the right to get angry at you? I just want to tell you this Ryder! No matter what you want to do with whatever woman, can you please not get photographed? It's going to affect me! Or if you want a divorce now we can go get it!" Scarlett yelled. Everything was okay for Ryder until he heard her mention divorce. No, he never wanted to get a divorce from her. "No. No divorce!" Ryder said. "Do you think that you are the one who gets to decide that? Maybe I should grant you your freedom so you can meet whichever woman that you want to meet!" Scarlett said. Something finally clicked in Ryder's mind. This woman is jealous right? . Sigh..but she is never going to admit that she is jealous. "Are you jealous?" Ryder asked. Scarlett snorted. Is there a reason for me to be jealous? Don't get me wrong. I don't get Jealous. I'm not jealous at all! It's because your affair is affecting me. Should we get a divorce so tht both of you can be together finally?" Scarlett asked. She said that she wasn't jealous but everything that she said and did was screaming the word "jealous" Ryder knew that he has to explain himself now. "That woman you saw....the woman in the pictures...she is my ex girlfriend" Ryder said. Scarlett nodded her head. "So it's an old flame? When are we getting the divorce then?" Scarlett asked. "Can you please stop talking about the divorce?!" Ryder asked. He was starting to lose his temper too. Does this woman want to annoy him to death? "Why should we stop talking about it? You are the who who is getting together with your former girlfriend and you are the one who is getting angry with me? Does this even make any sense?" Scarlett asked. She could not understand why this man was like this. She felt wronged! Really wronged! "I already said that I love you and I want to be with you. Doesn't that mean anything to you?" Ryder snapped. "You love me? Do you even really love me? Someone like you doesn't have any sincerity at all!" Scarlett could not help but repeat the words that Rose said. .she was livid. And Ryder was angry. He is not sincere? Alright! He will show her his sincerity! "You think I'm not Sincere right? Fine! I'll show you my sincerity!" Then, his body crashed on top of Scarlett's..... Ryder knew...he clearly knew....but he was till trying to avoid it. He could only fool himself into thinking that maybe there is something else.
